  • Patent number: 11652545
Abstract: Systems and methods for avoiding fiber damage of an optical fiber link are provided. A method, according to one implementation, includes monitoring optical signals transmitted along an optical fiber link from an output port of a first card to an input port of a second card. In response to detecting a fiber disconnection state when an amplifier of the first card is operating in a normal condition, the amplifier of the first card enters a forced Automatic Power Reduction (APR) condition. In addition to potentially reducing the risk of eye damage from laser light emitted from the optical fiber link, the forced APR condition is configured to allow for an uninterrupted debugging procedure. Also, the method includes returning the amplifier of the first card from the forced APR condition back to the normal operating condition after receiving an indication that the fiber disconnection state has cleared.

  • Patent number: 11651506
Abstract: A system for low compute high-resolution depth map generation using low-resolution cameras is configured to obtain a stereo pair of images and generate a depth map by performing stereo matching on the stereo pair of images. The system is also configured to obtain a first image comprising first texture information for the environment that has a first image resolution that is higher than an image resolution of images of the stereo pair of images. The system is further configured to generate a reprojected first image by reprojecting the first image to correspond to an image capture perspective associated with the depth map. The reprojection of the first image is based on depth information from the depth map and includes reprojected first texture information for the environment. The system is also configured to generate an upsampled depth map based on the depth map.

  • Patent number: 11652548
Abstract: Embodiments relate to a free space optical (FSO) terminal that transmits and receives (e.g., data-encoded) optical beams. The FSO terminal includes a fore optic (e.g., telescope) and a chromatic Risley prism pair. A receive (Rx) optical beam is received through the fore optic, and a transmit (Tx) optical beam is transmitted through the fore optic. The chromatic Risley prism pair is positioned along the optical paths of both the Rx and Tx optical beams. Since the Rx and Tx optical beams have different wavelengths and the chromatic Risley prism pair has a wavelength dependence, the chromatic Risley prism pair creates an angular separation between the Rx and Tx optical beams. A controller controls the Risley prism pair (and possibly also the wavelength of the Tx optical beam) to achieve a desired angular separation between the Rx and Tx optical beams in free space.

  • Patent number: 11633096
Abstract: A processor of an ophthalmologic image processing device acquires an ophthalmologic image photographed by an ophthalmologic image photographing device. The processor inputs the ophthalmologic image into a mathematical model trained by a machine learning algorithm to acquire a result of an analysis relating to at least one of a specific disease and a specific structure of a subject eye. The processor acquires information of a distribution of weight relating to an analysis by a mathematical model, as supplemental distribution information, for which an image area of the ophthalmologic image input into the mathematical model is set as a variable. The processor sets a part of the image area of the ophthalmologic image, as an attention area, based on the supplemental distribution information. The processor acquires an image of a tissue including the attention area among a tissue of the subject eye and displays the image on a display unit.

  • Patent number: 11621782
Abstract: Described herein are systems and methods that perform coarse chromatic dispersion (CD) compensation by applying precomputed coarse front-end equalizer (FEE) tap weights to a receiver based on an assumed propagation distance. After a waiting period, the FEE tap weights are applied, and it is determined whether the FEE tap weights cause a decision-directed tracking of channel rotations to satisfy a stability metric. In response to the stability metric not being satisfied, the assumed propagation distance is adjusted and used to obtain updated FEE tap weights. Conversely, if the stability metric is satisfied, a fine CD compensation is performed that comprises maintaining the updated FEE tap weights; performing an iterative least-mean-squared (LMS) error adaption to adjust Back-End Equalizer (BEE) tap weights and obtain updated BEE tap weights; and using the updated BEE tap weights to adjust the FEE tap weights to, ultimately, have the BEE output an equalized data bit stream.

  • Patent number: 11615554
Abstract: A method and system for reducing the number of colors per pixel present in an image to increase the ability to detect objects or anomalies in the image. A final number of colors per pixel to reduce the image to is determined, wherein the final number of colors is a number of colors less than the number of colors per pixel in the original image. A corresponding threshold value for each of the final number of colors is identified, such that the corresponding threshold values optimize an arithmetic combination of separation score functions applied to the plurality of pixels and the threshold values. The image is reduced to the final number of colors per pixel, by creating an output image where a value of each output pixel is equal to the number of threshold values that are less than the value of the corresponding input pixel.
