  • Patent number: 10952142
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) and a base station operating in unlicensed spectrum may temporarily increase a paging opportunity window (POW) size, or reduce a time between POWs, in order to meet performance metrics or account for time periods when a base station is unable to win access to the wireless medium during a POW. In some cases, a UE may identify a failed listen-before-talk procedure and autonomously update the POW size. In other examples, a base station may initiate a change in POW size or increase a number of paging opportunities in order to meet achieve one or more key performance indicators (KPIs). After a predetermined period, or after a triggering condition is no longer present, the UE and the base station may reset the POW size or the number of paging opportunities to a nominal amount to conserve power.

  • Patent number: 10944503
Abstract: A network coding system. A packet decoding engine receives a number of received packets. A packet repository is coupled to the decoding engine to temporarily store the received packets. The packet decoding engine is configured to generate a decoding matrix by forming a sub-matrix by selecting columns of a network code matrix that have indices that are the same as the indices of the encoded packets that correspond to the selected received packets. The packet decoding engine is also configured to invert the sub-matrix to form the decoding matrix and multiply the received packet matrix by the decoding matrix to generate a recovered matrix where each column corresponds to a decoded packet.

  • Patent number: 10938545
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. Synchronization signals may be transmitted using a set of phase offsets over different component carriers or using a single component carrier for each antenna port. For example, a base station may identify a set of synchronization signals (e.g., a set of primary synchronization signals (PSSs)) to be transmitted over one or multiple component carriers. In some cases, each PSS may be associated with a different component carrier, and the base station may apply a different phase offset to each PSS when transmitting the set of PSSs on the component carriers. In some examples, the base station may transmit the PSSs on the component carriers using a different antenna port for each component carrier.

  • Patent number: 10917460
Abstract: A load-balancer instance is instantiated in a network virtualization edge (NVE) in a software defined network (SDN). A forwarding table in the NVE is modified to indicate that a next hop for a packet having a destination address of the load-balancer instance is to be resolved by the load-balancer instance. From a portion of the packet, and using the load-balancer instance, a value usable to select a singular next hop to a first real server in a pool of real servers managed by the load-balancer instance is determined. The packet is forwarded, using the modified forwarding table, the packet through an underlay of the SDN such that the packet tunnels from the NVE to a first NVE, the second NVE hosting the first real server.

  • Patent number: 10887119
Abstract: In some embodiments, a non-transitory processor-readable medium stores code representing instructions configured to cause a processor to receive, from an access switch, a first signal including forwarding state information associated with a first peripheral processing device from a set of peripheral processing devices. The code can further represent instructions configured to cause the processor to receive, from the first peripheral processing device, a second signal including a data packet. The code can further represent instructions configured to cause the processor to send, to a replication engine associated with the set of peripheral processing devices, a third signal such that the replication engine (1) defines a copy of the data packet, which is included within the third signal, and (2) sends, to a second peripheral processing device from the set of peripheral processing devices, a fourth signal including the copy of the data packet.

  • Patent number: 10827558
Abstract: User equipments (UEs) may transmit periodic discovery broadcasts to enable another UE to establish a relay connection to a network. When the UEs transmit respective discovery broadcasts, the discovery broadcasts may cause excessive utilization of network or battery resources. In some aspects, described herein, a first UE, based at least in part on failing to receive a periodic discovery broadcast, may transmit a search signal. A second UE may refrain from transmitting periodic discovery broadcasts based at least in part on a first energy metric not satisfying a first energy metric threshold, but may transmit a discovery broadcast as a response to the search signal based at least in part on a second energy metric satisfying a second energy metric threshold, thereby enabling the first UE to establish a connection to a base station using the second UE as a relay.

  • Patent number: 10771381
Abstract: A receiving node receives a virtual LDP initialization (vInit) message from a first node, where the vInit message comprises a request to establish a vLDP session between a requesting node and a target node. If the receiving node does not own a destination address of the vInit message, the receiving node is determined to be a relay node. The relay node inserts a relay label into the vInit message, where the relay label is an outgoing label that the relay node uses to reach the first node, and forwards the vInit message toward the destination address. If the receiving node owns the destination address, the receiving node is determined to be the target node, which extracts a stack of relay labels from the vInit message. The relay labels are used to define a return path to the requesting node for messages transmitted over the vLDP session.

  • Patent number: 10772142
Abstract: Techniques, systems, devices, and methods are disclosed for establishing a communication session with a peripheral device. In one example, a device includes a memory and processing circuitry configured to store and execute an operating system (OS) and an application for execution on the OS. The application receives an object handle for establishing a wireless connection to a peripheral device. The application determines, based on the object handle, an advertisement cadence for the peripheral device that comprises periods of time wherein the peripheral device is discoverable interleaved with periods of time wherein the peripheral device is non-discoverable. At a time determined based on the advertisement cadence, the application issues, using the object handle, a request that the OS establish the wireless connection to the peripheral device, such that the OS establishes the wireless connection to the peripheral device during one of the periods of time wherein the peripheral device is discoverable.

  • Patent number: 10462267
Abstract: The disclosed embodiments relate to a system that provides an intelligent port infrastructure for communication network devices. This is accomplished by incorporating a highly configurable pre-classifier module into the port infrastructure. This pre-classifier makes it possible to realign packet data to add a configurable number of bytes to the front of the packet, and also to select interesting data from incoming packets for further analysis. The selected data is sent into a configurable classification engine, which generates instructions that specify how to determine associated packet attributes. The packet attributes are then generated based on the instructions, and are forwarded along with the packet to downstream processing units.
