  • Patent number: 11140870
Abstract: Vapor wake detection is a highly advantageous method and system for detecting explosives and other illicit substances. With vapor wake detection, a canine and a handler are used; however, unlike other detection schemes, the canine leads the handler. After the handler positions the canine in a desired location, the canine detects scents in the air that come to the canine. When the canine detects a trained scent, the canine leads the handler to or follows behind the carrier of the item with the scent. Once the carrier is identified by the handler, the proper personnel are contacted. To implement vapor wake detection effectively, specific rigorous training is utilized.

  • Patent number: 11129370
Abstract: A thermodynamic terminator and a method of eliminating mites and parasites within a bee box. The thermodynamic terminator includes a housing having a lower panel with a fan aperture, an air intake, and an interior wall for supporting a divider panel. The divider panel extends from a sidewall of the housing to form a first compartment and a second compartment. A heating element is positioned within the first compartment and can regulate heat within the first compartment and the bee box. When the thermodynamic terminator is mounted to the bee box and activated, air is heated by the heating element and forced into the bee box by a system fan. The heated air is circulated within the bee box and forced to return to the first compartment via the air intake. A controller regulates the heating temperature and period of activation.

  • Patent number: 11089768
Abstract: A clevis body adapted to support one or a pair of spinner blades in combination on a filamentary support to produce a periodic cyclical counter rotation of the clevis and spinner blade assemblies when directed through water. A bore at a longitudinal core receives the filamentary support. At least one cross arm laterally radiates from the core and mounts to at least one spinner blade support arm that extends parallel to the core. One or a pair of spinner blades mounted to the longitudinal support arm(s) periodically and cyclically counter rotate the assembly about the filamentary support. The hydrodynamic movement of the clevis body and attached blades particularly induce the assembly to cyclically and periodically change back and forth between clockwise and counter-clockwise rotation directions.

  • Patent number: 11058075
Abstract: Prior art technology has a problem in that when a plant is cultivated for a long period of time on a PVA film having its lower surface positioned in contact with a nutrient fluid, plant roots that have formed penetrate through the film. A plant cultivation system wherein the PVA film has an equilibrium degree of swelling in the range of from 125 to 250% as measured in water at 30° C. and has a loss tangent (tan ?) in the range of from 0.005 to 0.2 as measured in an equilibrium swollen state in water at 30° C., and a method for cultivating a plant by using this plant cultivation system. Plant cultivation can be performed for a long period of time while avoiding infection by bacteria and the like causative of plant diseases. Therefore, the present invention is useful in, e.g., agriculture and the manufacture of pharmaceuticals.
