Abstract: In one embodiment, a controller includes a processor and a memory, the memory storing logic. The logic is configured to perform, when executed by the processor, operations comprising detecting, in response to driving electrodes of a touch sensor with a first drive signal having a first polarity, a presence of a stylus. The presence of the stylus is detected based on a first sense signal, the first sense signal having a second polarity. The operations further comprise detecting, in response to driving the electrodes with a second drive signal having the first polarity, a second sense signal having a third polarity. The third polarity is an inverse of the second polarity. The operations further comprise driving, in response to detecting the second sense signal having the third polarity, the electrodes with a third drive signal having a fourth polarity. The fourth polarity is an inverse of the first polarity.
Abstract: A liquid crystal display device is configured so that one frame is divided into two fields and a pixel of a liquid crystal panel is driven. The liquid crystal display device performs overdrive when a gray-scale level to be supplied to the pixel is different between a previous frame and a current frame. The liquid crystal display writes a voltage corresponding to the gray-scale level of the pixel with a positive voltage in a first field, and writes a voltage corresponding to the gray-scale level to be supplied to the pixel with a negative voltage in a second field. When performing overdrive, the liquid crystal display device performs overdrive in both of the first field and the second field. Also, when performing overdrive, the liquid crystal display device corrects the gray-scale level to be supplied to the pixel.
Abstract: Provided is a matrix switching type touch panel including a plurality of touch pads disposed in a visible area on a substrate in a dot matrix format, the touch pads spaced from one another, and a plurality of signal lines disposed in a space between the touch pads, each connecting a touch pad and a touch driving circuit of an invisible area. The panel comprises: unit electrodes made of a transparent electroconductive material and disposed within the visible area; touch pad areas each determined in an area corresponding to each touch pad; signal line areas each determined in an area corresponding to each signal line; and bridges electrically connecting the plurality of unit electrodes disposed in each touch pad area and each signal line area. The unit electrodes are arranged in a zigzag format with respect to a first axis parallel to the signal lines.

Abstract: The present invention provides a backlight control method, a backlight control device and a display apparatus. The backlight control method comprises steps of: acquiring a backlight information and writing the backlight information into a backlight register of system on chip; obtaining a backlight adjusting data based on the backlight information in the backlight register; sending the backlight adjusting data to a backlight control register of a field-programmable gate array, so that the backlight control register obtains a corresponding backlight control register value based on the backlight adjusting data; and adjusting backlight according to the backlight control register value. By correlating backlight option function in the system on chip (SOC) with the field-programmable gate array (FPGA) panel, the users can accomplish the control of the displayed backlight through the menus displayed on the display apparatus. This improves the using experience of the users.
Abstract: In a pixel circuit, TFTs are connected and driven such that a threshold voltage Vth of a TFT, which is a drive transistor, can be held in a threshold holding capacitor having a capacitance value c1, voltages, including a data potential Vdata representing an image to be displayed, can be held in a data holding capacitor having a capacitance value c2, and charges in the data holding capacitor and the threshold holding capacitor are redistributed at the time of light emission. As a result, a potential obtained by multiplying the data potential Vdata by c1/(c1+c2) is provided to a gate potential of the TFT.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure relate to a technique for determining a valid sequence of touch events on a touch sensitive device. A first sequence of touch events is received, a proximity between any two touch events of the first sequence of touch events being greater than a proximity threshold. A second sequence of touch events is received. The touch events from the first and the second sequence are combined if a time difference between the first and the second sequence of touch events is below a time threshold and a proximity between the first and the second sequence of touch events is less than the proximity threshold. A valid sequence of touch events is determined if a combined pressure of the first and the second sequence of touch events is greater than a pressure threshold.

Abstract: A display device capable of high-quality stereoscopic display without decreasing resolution is provided. A pixel portion including a plurality of pixels arranged in matrix is divided into plural regions, lighting of backlight units each emitting light of different hues is controlled in each region, and the backlight units of the plural regions are turned off simultaneously at a regular interval so as to display black. The right-eye image and the left-eye image are alternately displayed with black display interposed therebetween, and light incident on the right eye of a viewer is blocked when a left-eye image is displayed, and light incident on the left eye of the viewer is blocked when a right-eye image is displayed. An image signal is written into a pixel in a black display period during which the backlight units are turned off.
