  • Patent number: 9850877
Abstract: A fluid power-extraction machine is immersed in an ambient flow of a fluid, captures (and extracts energy from) a portion of the fluid, and discharges it back into the ambient flow. The machine includes a housing bounding a fluid intake inlet and including an ambient flow deflector, a downstream body arranged rearwardly from the deflector and forming a discharge outlet between the deflector and the downstream body, and a power extraction device in a fluid flow channel communicating from the fluid intake inlet to the discharge outlet. The deflector outwardly deflects and accelerates a portion of the ambient flow adjacent to the discharge outlet. A mixing surface of the downstream body extends outwardly and rearwardly from the discharge outlet, mixing the accelerated flow, the discharged flow and the ambient flow together along the mixing surface. A backflow preventer of the downstream body prevents wake backflow from impeding discharge of spent flow at the discharge outlet.

  • Patent number: 9845812
Abstract: In a method for operating a hydraulic device for providing a supply to hydraulic consumers (V) on a plastics injection moulding machine, provision is made of a pump (10) with a volumetric delivery characteristic that results in cyclic pulsations and of a servomotor (11) with multiple poles that result in cyclic pulsations. The pressure at the hydraulic consumer (V) is detected and is input as an actual value into a pressure regulator (13) that readjusts the servomotor (11), on the basis of a predefined pressure profile, to a pressure setpoint value at the hydraulic consumer (V). The cyclic pressure pulsation is minimized in that, by means of a rotational angle sensor (20), the rotational angle (?) of the pump (10) and/or of the servomotor (11) is detected and correlated with the cyclic pulsations, and in that, from this, a corrective value or a corrective function is determined and is transmitted to the pressure regulator (13) with control subordinate to the regulation of the pressure setpoint value.

  • Patent number: 9835185
Abstract: A hydraulic mechanism is mounted on a forklift. The hydraulic mechanism has a control valve and a pressure compensation circuit for compensating pressure within the hydraulic mechanism. The pressure compensation circuit has a relief pressure valve and an unloading valve for releasing pressure within the pressure compensation circuit to a discharge oil passage. Upon instructed to perform cargo handling operation, the unloading valve is switched to an open state, and the relief pressure valve is thereby actuated, so that rapid increase of pressure within the circuit is avoided. Further, the unloading valve is switched to an open state, and the pressure within the hydraulic mechanism is thereby released to the discharge oil passage, so that the cargo handling operation by the tilt cylinder and the lift cylinder is restricted.
