Abstract: A toy sleigh consisting of a body portion and a pair of runners each of which are separately produced and assembled, the body portion having a plurality of aligned bores in its bottom wall adjacent the side wall of the body portion, the bores receiving stem portions mounted on the runners, the stem portions having a boss forming a shoulder preventing the inadvertant sliding of the stem portions from the bores after the runners have been releasably secured to the body portion.

Abstract: Clamping apparatus is provided for holding thin flexible printing plates in position on a press cylinder. In some embodiments, shim members are attached to the outer periphery of the press cylinder for accurately radially positioning the printing plates with respect to the surface of the press cylinder. A clamping assembly is provided separately from and at a spacing from the shim members for releasably clamping one edge of the printing plate while the other edge of the printing plate is engaged over one of the edge portions of the shim member. The shim members and the clamping assembly are independently and separately attachable to the press cylinder so that the shim members can remain in position while printing plates are exchanged, as well as during removal and/or adjustment of the clamping assembly. A pair of symmetrically arranged lock bars are hingedly mounted for selective engagement with detent portions of the printing plates to accommodate reversal of the clamping direction.

Abstract: An assemblable toy figure has a hollow trunk divided into front and rear portions, a head mounted for relative rotation on a locking bar that engages in internal recesses in the trunk portions, and arms and legs respectively pivotable relative to the trunk. The legs are mounted on pins extending from a pivot joint supported from within the trunk and rotatable about a vertical axis relative to the trunk, whereby in the assembled figure the trunk can turn laterally relative to the legs.

Abstract: A dental jaw simulator is provided for duplicating human jaw movements and, in particular, the movement of the lower human jaw. The simulator includes a support frame and an upper jaw member pivotally mounted on the support frame and which is adapted to receive an upper dental arch cast. A lower jaw member is also mounted on the support frame and is adapted to receive a lower dental arch cast. Movement of the lower jaw member in protrusive and retrusive directions and in a lateral direction is controlled by a ball and slot hinge arrangement in combination with a movable anterior platform mounted on the support frame and a forward pin connected to the lower jaw member and which engages and is movable relative to the anterior platform. The anterior platform is provided with sloping planes on which the forward pin moves to guide the lower jaw member in order to duplicate the dropping of the lower human jaw during lateral movement.

Abstract: A decorative article in assembly with a decorative cover, including an inlay such as a tapestry or a photograph and preferably equipped with a stand, for use in the interior of a building comprises a plastic foam foundation, covered by a decorative covering with an informative inlay such as a photograph, a mirror, or a painting placed over the foundation and cover, the inlay being covered by a transparent sheet, the circumferential edge of the sheet being secured by a plurality of decorative pin heads, each pin head having its needle piercing through the sheet into the foundation for a tight fit of all the component parts.

Abstract: The individual tine is oval in cross section adjacent the base and gradually changes to a circular cross section at the distal end thereof. It is held in a flexible insert by means of lugs on each side adjacent the base and can be turned so that the wider portion of the oval faces the direction of travel whereupon the tine flexes readily or, the tine can be turned at right angles to the direction of travel thus presenting a much stiffer tine. The first position may be used upon relatively light crops and the second position upon relatively heavy crops.

Abstract: A vertically extending attachment for the vertically extending drive-shaft of a rotary lawn mower, edger or trimmer comprises a centrally apertured flexible and longitudinally compressible spool which is encased within a rigid cylindrical sleeve of lesser length with a centrally apertured washer at each end which contacts the corresponding ends of the centrally apertured flexible and longitudinally compressible spool. An elongated centrally disposed adjustable bolt extends through the device with its upper end threaded for reception in the usual screw-threaded recess in the lower end of the aforementioned drive-shaft. A heavy duty monofilament or non-metallic cutting strand is wrapped around the aforementioned spool so as to provide at least two free-travelling ends which extend outwardly through relatively short radially disposed tubes which are mounted in evenly spaced alignment with communicating apertures in the sidewall of the rigid sleeve.

Abstract: Apparatus used in conjunction with milking machines for automatically stimulating the cow to facilitate milk let-down. Upon initiation of the milking cycle, the apparatus provides a controlled higher than atmospheric pressure to the air intake port of the vacuum line pulsator. An alternating vacuum and air pressure is thereby applied between the teat cup shell and inflation to provide a massaging action which causes stimulation of the cow and full milk let-down. Timing means are provided in the apparatus to shut off the air pressure to the pulsator a selected period of time after initiation of the stimulation, and to thereafter supply filtered atmospheric air to the pulsator to allow milking to continue in the usual manner.

Abstract: A hollow structural element of an assembly kit, particularly forming a compartment of a toy vehicle has a hollow body having an open end through which a toy figure can be inserted, a wall located opposite to the open end and provided with connecting elements for connecting the body portion with another structural element, and side walls having a plurality of projections adapted to engage a toy figure and to retain the latter in the body portion. The toy figure may have a base portion and an undercut portion, and the projections of the side walls of the body portion may be so located as to engage the undercut portion of the toy model. The projections of the side walls of the body portion may extend parallel to the opposite wall and outside of corner regions of the body portion.

Abstract: A method and means for removing firmly affixed, binding, stuck or cemented dental restorations and appliances, which includes a substance which when held under compressive force forms strong adhesive properties between opposing surfaces sufficient to remove firmly affixed, binding, stuck or cemented dental restorations and appliances. The substance forms a strong temporary adhesive bond due to its strong adhesive properties developed under compression between the surface of the restoration or appliance to be removed and the instrumentality performing the removal, this being achieved with no tools or mechanical devices. The instrumentality, for example, comprises the jaws of the patient which are used to apply compressing force and a forceful rapid jerking reverse removal pressure to the restoration or appliance by the muscular force of the patient's jaw opening.

Abstract: An assembly kit has a first hollow structural element having a face and at least one groove open at the face, a second hollow structural element having a wall surface positionable onto the face of the first structural element, and at least one further groove extending inwardly of the wall surface, and a substantially U-shaped connecting element having two elongated portions connected with one another by an intermediate portion. One of the elongated portions of the connecting element is insertable into the groove of the first structural element, whereas the other elongated portion of the connecting element is insertable into the further groove of the second structural element when the wall surface of the second structural element is positioned on the face of the first structural element so as to connect the structural element with one another.

Abstract: A dental surveyor and method therefor for use in preoperative evaluation of the rotational and translational movements required for corrective surgery are disclosed. The dental surveyor has a movable stylus or scribe that can be selectively positioned with respect to articulated mandibular and/or maxillary dental models. When the models are articulated in the two positions representing the malocclusion and the proposed corrective occlusion, the movable stylus provides a means for marking and thereby visually identifying the relative locations of a point of anatomical interest in the two positions.

Abstract: Described is an enclosure device for encouraging the laying of eggs by domestic fowls particularly turkeys, comprising a cage open at opposite ends, one end constituting the fowl-entry end for permitting the entry and exit of the domestic fowl, and the opposite end constituting the egg-removal end for removing the egg layed by the fowl when in the cage. An ejector member is movable within the cage to force the fowl to exit from the fowl-entry end; and an egg-removing member is coupled to the ejector member within the cage to remove any eggs therein through the egg-removal end. The device further includes a drive for driving the ejector member and the egg-removal member first to force the fowl out of the cage from the fowl-entry end, and then to remove any egg therein from the egg-removal end.

Abstract: A wild bird feeder with separate compartments and adjustable dispensing means for seeds of various sizes so that a greater variety of the preferred smaller birds can feed. Novel means are also provided for protecting the seed from rain and from destructive animals and for providing adjustable perches to attract the preferred smaller birds and to permit either hanging or post mounting of the feeder.

Abstract: A toy vehicle and housing set, the toy vehicle having a body with a shell member positionable thereover, the shell member being configured for simulating a body of another type vehicle. The housing has a track section for traversal of the vehicle thereover and sidewalls generally perpendicular to the track section, the shell member and housing sidewalls having coacting portions for removing the shell member from the vehicle during traversal of the vehicle therethrough. The housing contains a booster for accelerating the vehicle from the exit end thereof.

Abstract: A baler having an improved pickup counterbalance mechanism is disclosed. The improved mechanism includes biased pivot cranks connected to each end of the pickup and a variable length connector slideably fixed between the biasing means to provide a single adjustment for effectively equalizing the counterbalance forces on the two lateral ends of the pickup.

Abstract: A telephone subscriber's card index includes a flat casing having a top, side walls and a front opening, a tray adapted to be pushed into and pulled out of the casing through said opening, and a pile of index cards supported on the tray and intended to have information thereon. The index includes manually operable depressible keys, with dogs on the underside of the keys, for determining, before pulling out the tray, which index card is to be presented to an operator by depression of an optionally selected one of said keys.

Abstract: Disclosed is a knockdown beehive frame suitable for molding from plastic. The frame has a top member, bottom member and a pair of side members, all of which are mated with releasable interlocking portions so they can be assembled into a completed frame and disassembled again, at will. The frame members have slots and wire holes for maintenance of a wax sheet within the frame in the usual manner.

Abstract: A toy assembly capable of being configured into a simulated horse is provided. The body member contains a pivotal connection that is rotatively attached to a joint assembly configured and positioned on the body member to represent respectively the withers and breast of the horse. A removable appendage member configured and operatively positioned on the joint assembly represents the horse's neck and head. The appendage member can be removed and replaced with the upper torso of a humanoid robot. A magnet assembly in the body of the horse is additionally capable of securing removable accessory parts.
