Abstract: A linearity control system includes a series of linearity control compositions, each thereof includes white blood cell analogs and stabilized red blood cells in a suspension medium. The concentration of the white blood cell analogs in the series of control compositions increases from 0.2×103 to 800×103 analogs per microliter, and the concentration of the white blood cell analogs in at least one control composition is greater than 120×103 analogs per microliter. The stabilized red blood cells facilitate mono-dispersion of the white blood cell analogs in the suspension medium by gently mixing. The control compositions further include platelet analogs, or additionally include reticulocyte and/or nucleated red blood cell analogs. The linearity control system allows the verification of the reportable measurement range and linearity of the measurements of hematology analyzers for white blood cells, red blood cells and platelets in extended concentration ranges.

Abstract: A criteria-based messaging method for use with a vehicle email notification system in which triggers are used to initiate the generation and transmission of email messages that provide diverse types of dynamic vehicle information to the owner or other authorized subscriber. The email notifications are triggered by different events, some of which are independent of the vehicle (e.g., a monthly trigger), and others of which occur at the vehicle, such as a mileage or low oil life trigger. The notification system builds and sends to the subscriber an email message that contains the dynamic vehicle information and identifies any detected vehicle condition for which action is needed. The vehicle data is also compared to predefined criteria which, if met, result in an alternative notification message (text message, voice message, etc.) being sent to the recipient by an alternative means such as a phone call to the vehicle.

The glazing can be an IG unit comprising two spaced-apart panes bounding a between-pane space, the IG unit having at least one exterior surface on which there is provided a transparent conductor coating comprising carbon nanotubes. The glazing can alternatively be a laminated glass assembly comprising two panes of glass and an interlayer comprising carbon nanotubes sandwiched therebetween. Monolithic substrate embodiments are also provided. In certain embodiments, the coating comprises both dielectric film and carbon nanotubes.
Abstract: A writing information processing device includes a writing acquiring unit that acquires writing information which is an electrified writing onto a medium that a document image is printed on, a link acquiring unit that acquires at least one of link information to a first electronic document that is an original of the document image and link information to a second electronic document generated from the first electronic document, and a file generating unit that generates a file in which the writing information is added to the link information.
Abstract: A method and computer program product with encoded instructions provides for repeatedly making data backups for files by making a series of snapshots of file storage volumes containing the files. The method and computer product further provide for determining that a malware attack has occurred, identifying corrupted files and, for each corrupted file, scanning the series of snapshots to identify an uncorrupted version of the file. Each corrupted file is restored to an uncorrupted version thereof. An event log contains write events and snapshot creation events corresponding to creation of each of the snapshots. A forensic scan scans the event log to determine modifying writes made by the corrupted files and which modified further files. The further files are restored to unmodified versions thereof. A list of at-risk files includes the corrupted files and the further files and the forensic scan is repeated on the at-risk files.
Abstract: First and second integer transform matrices can be used to approximate the discrete cosine transform. An input matrix of data is multiplied by a first transform matrix of integers to produce an intermediate matrix of data. The intermediate matrix is multiplied by a second transform matrix of integers to produce a transform result matrix of data. The multiplications by the first and second transform matrices can be pipelined to increase throughput. A plurality of transform data paths can also be provided in parallel to increase throughput.
Abstract: A method and device are disclosed that provide for detection of fluid leaks in analytical instruments and instrument systems. The leak detection device includes a collection tube, a fluid absorbing material, and a circuit that electrically couples to an indicator device. When assembled, the leak detection device detects and monitors for fluid leaks, providing a preselected response in conjunction with the indicator device when contacted by a fluid.
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a turbine nozzle assembly using a fixture including a biasing mechanism. The method includes moving the biasing mechanism from a biased first position to a second position using at least one of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical power, positioning at least one datum of the turbine nozzle assembly adjacent at least one datum location point on the fixture, and aligning the turbine nozzle assembly at least one datum with the at least one datum location point by releasing the biasing mechanism such that the biasing mechanism moves from the second position into contact with the turbine nozzle assembly.

Abstract: A plurality of documents are ranked. The documents are returned as the result of a query computed for each search engine of a plurality of search engines. Each document of the plurality of documents is associated with a Uniform Resource Locator (URL). The plurality of documents includes at least one document returned as a result of the query from each of the search engines. For each URL associated with a document from the plurality of documents, a frequency of the URLs is determined. Ranking the plurality of documents includes ranking them based on one or more factors, which are based on the frequency determined for each URL associated with the plurality of documents.

Abstract: An unknown annotator and its annotation type system are compared against a reference annotation type system. The comparison is done by providing a plurality of documents, and annotating each document using the reference set of document annotators, producing instances of reference annotation types, to generate a pre-annotated reference document set, and using the subject annotator and its subject annotation type system to generate a pre-annotated evaluation document set. Documents in the pre-annotated evaluation document set are compared to documents in the pre-annotated reference document set, and matches in location, within the compared documents, of instances of the subject annotation types and the reference annotation types are identified. Based on the matching data, reference document annotation types are selected that sufficiently correlate with the subject annotation type system.

Abstract: This connection comprises two elements, male and female, adapted to fit axially in each other, the body of the female element being equipped with a lock mounted to slide and pierced with at least one opening for the fit of the male element. The wall of this opening is equipped with at least one element in relief adapted to cooperate with a corresponding element in relief of the male element in order to retain these elements in fitted configuration. The lock is in two parts and comprises a first part on which may be exerted, from outside the body, an effort of displacement, as well as a second part mobile with respect to the first part and bearing the aforementioned element in relief. A safety member is adapted to block the first part against the effort of displacement, without preventing the displacement of the element in relief with respect to the first part of the connection.

Abstract: An expandable intervertebral implant for insertion between vertebrae of a human spine is described. The intervertebral implant includes an upper body that engages a first vertebra of the human spine, a lower body that engages a second vertebra of the human spine, an insert, and an advancing element. The advancing element may engage the insert such that advancement of the advancing element causes the insert to at least partially rotate between the upper body and the lower body. Rotation of the insert may cause the insert to interact with at least a portion of the upper body or at least a portion of the lower body to increase a separation distance between the upper body and the lower body, thereby increasing a height of the intervertebral implant after insertion of the implant between the first vertebra and the second vertebra of the human spine.
