  • Patent number: 8581933
Abstract: A method controls display of an image by dividing a source image into a plurality of M×N blocks of pixels, selecting a first one of the blocks, and transferring the pixels in the first block from a source memory to a display memory, the pixels in the first block transferred based on orientation change information. The selecting and transferring steps are then repeated to transfer pixels in remaining ones of the blocks to the display memory. Each block corresponds to only a portion of the source image, where any given portion represents less than a full line of pixels in the source image.

  • Patent number: 8570347
Abstract: An electronic device and method for image editing include constructing a virtual wallpaper interface, which includes an image display area and a preview window. After an image is imported from the area to the preview window, the method proportionally resizes the image. If the display ratio of the resized image is greater than that of the preview window, the electronic device and method can crop the resized image to generate an edited image that fits the aspect ratio of the preview window. If not, the electronic device and method merge at least one image with the edited image and crop the merged image to generate the edited image. By enlarging the edited image, a desired image which can cover an entire screen of the electronic device is generated.

  • Patent number: 8570326
Abstract: A visualization mechanism may use two sets of rules having different priorities to generate points of interest for a dataset, and display the dataset with labels for the points of interest. The first set of rules may identify and label points of interest by various mechanisms, including analysis of the dataset and comparison to other datasets. The second set of rules may de-clutter the points interest by filtering and aggregating the points of interest by various mechanisms including the priority of the rule that created the point of interest. A display generator may create the visualization of the dataset along with various labels. In some embodiments, the display generator may allow real time user interaction with the data, which may include resizing the visualization in which the filtering and aggregation may be re-applied.

  • Patent number: 8558847
Abstract: In accordance with a particular embodiment of the invention, a request for a geotag comprising situational information and geographic coordinates may be received from a requestor. The request may include geospatial data, such as position data and viewing angle data, that identifies a location of the requester. The position data may be latitude data, longitude data, and/or elevation data, and the viewing angle data may be azimuth data, compass direction data, and/or orientation data. The geographic coordinates of a candidate geotag may be compared to the location received in the request. If the candidate geotag is near the location received in the request, it may be sent to the requestor.

  • Patent number: 8537163
Abstract: A method for displaying continuous lines on a raster-based display appliance, with a continuous line being defined by a sequence of two-dimensional support points v1 and v2 and a line width w, and with a rectangle 1, which connects the support points v1, v2, having a rectangle length predetermined by the distance between the support points v1, v2 and having a rectangle width predetermined by the line width w being displayed between two support points v1, v2. The method provides that a triangle sequence 6, which covers a gap 5 between the rectangles 1, 2, is displayed between two successive rectangles 1 and 2 whose alignment with respect to one another is at an angle ???0. The triangle sequence 6 includes a plurality of triangles which each have the support point v2, which connects the successive rectangles 1, 2, as a common corner point.

Abstract: An instruction folding mechanism, a method for performing the instruction folding mechanism and a pixel processing system employing the instruction folding mechanism are described. The pixel processing system comprises an instruction folding mechanism and a pixel shader. The instruction folding mechanism folds a plurality of first instructions in a first program to generate a second program having at least one second instruction which is a combination of the first instructions. The pixel shader connected to the instruction folding mechanism fetches the second program to decode at least the second instruction having the combination of the first instructions to execute the second program. The instruction folding mechanism comprises an instruction scheduler, a folding rule checker, and an instruction combiner. The instruction scheduler connected to the folding rule checker is used to scan the first instructions according to static positions in order to schedule the first instructions in the first program.

  • Patent number: 8497864
Abstract: Measurement points for display on a two-dimensional pixel-based display device are formed by scanned and digitized measurement values. To this end, the resolution of each measurement point according to time and/or value is higher than the resolution of the two-dimensional pixel-based display device. The measurement points are connected into a continuous measurement point curve if they are not located on directly adjoining pixels. In order to determine the pixels to be depicted of the continuous measurement point curve between two measurement points not located on directly adjoining pixels, the positions of the adjoining measurement points within the associated pixels are taken into consideration.
