  • Patent number: 9350520
Abstract: A technique to provide a protection mechanism, when operating over a plurality of channels in one's own BSS, to help avoid components in other BSSs from interfering or generating contention conflicts to those channels during its own communication. In one embodiment, a channel reservation signal, such as a Clear-To-Send-To-Self frame, is broadcast across each of a plurality of channels in order to reserve the plurality of wireless channels for a predetermined period of time. A broadcast or multicast frame may then be transmitted during the predetermined time utilizing one or more of the reserved wireless channels.

Abstract: Methods and network devices for communicating data packets in a set of transmissions between a transmitter and a receiver of a communications network are described. The method includes prior exchanging transmitter-provided packet information and receiver-provided packet information between the transmitter and the receiver, generating an initial compression dictionary before the first transmission, based on the exchanged transmitter-provided packet information and the exchanged receiver-provided packet information. At the transmitter, the method further includes compressing the data packets of the first and subsequent transmissions of the set using the initial compression dictionary, and sending the compressed data packets over the communications network to the receiver.

  • Patent number: 9317615
Abstract: A master and a slave computing device within a co-browsing session can be identified. The devices can be associated with a first Unified Resource Identifier (URI) where a portion of the URI is a fully qualified domain name of a Domain Name System (DNS) hierarchy. The second URI can share a root domain with the first URI. A portion of a master artifact associated with the master device can be conveyed to the slave device. The master artifact can be associated with state information of the session. A portion of a slave artifact linked to the slave device can be modified with the portion of the master artifact. The devices can be navigated to the second URI in response to the request.

  • Patent number: 9294418
Abstract: Aspects of the disclosure provide a codec that transforms input data into a codeword. The codeword includes a header portion and a payload portion. The codec modifies the payload portion of the codeword based on a type control block that is included in the payload portion of the codeword. Specifically, the codec modifies a control block in the payload portion to create a reference block, which provisions for data blocks to be inserted in the codeword subsequent to the reference block. Thus, by modifying the payload portion of the codeword, the codec eliminates any wasted data bytes thereby achieving optimal usage of the payload bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 9294223
Abstract: System (100) and methods (3500) for receive processing of a burst communication system where co-channel signals (318) collide in a receiver (150). The methods comprise: simultaneously receiving co-channel signals (2002, 2004, 2006) transmitted from remote transmitters (104-112) at a first frequency; and independently performing a first iteration of a Turbo MUD process for a first co-channel signal and a second co-channel signal. The Turbo MUD process comprises: segmenting each of the first and second co-channel signals into a plurality of segments (2102, 2104, 2106) each having a unique SINR; computing a noise plus interference variance estimate for each segment; computing first bit likelihood values for each segment based on the noise variance estimate; computing second bit likelihood values for each segment based on the first bit likelihood values; and using the second bit likelihood values (i.e., soft in soft-out) to generate a first estimate of the first and second co-channel signals.

  • Patent number: 9288766
Abstract: The disclosure relates to methods and devices for performing uplink power control in a radio communication system. An example method comprises a step of receiving, at a user equipment (UE) a transmit power control (TPC) command. The method also comprises, if the UE does not have an uplink transmission scheduled for a subframe associated with the TPC command, a step of accumulating, by the UE, the TPC command with previously received TPC commands based on whether the UE has reached a maximum transmit power or a minimum transmit power in a reference format for a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH), Sounding Reference Signal (SRS) or Physical Uplink Control Channel (PUCCH) transmission. Thus the UE is enabled to receive TPC commands while the UE is not transmitting anything in the uplink.

  • Patent number: 9288712
Abstract: Rather than using a large number of transceivers (transmitter/receiver pairs) operating in parallel, Access Points with multiple channels are used to aggregate, or stack, transmitted response communications, e.g., transmitting multiple acknowledgements (ACKs) in a single packet to one or more sources of received packets. The method includes sending on a plurality of channels, by each of a plurality of respective first nodes, a communication to a second node, receiving on the plurality of channels, by the second node, the communication from each of the plurality of first nodes and sending, by the second node, a transmission that contains a response to each communication that was successfully received from each of the plurality of first nodes. The response to each of the plurality of first nodes is part of a single message sent by the second node.
