  • Patent number: 10379791
Abstract: An image forming apparatus capable of performing recovery printing while avoiding wasteful discarding of printed sheets following a defective sheet. An image is formed on a sheet by an image forming section based on an input job and is inspected. An inserter inserts sheets placed thereon into sheets conveyed from the image forming section. When a defective sheet is detected, the job is interrupted, and the defective sheet and subsequent sheets already printed are discharged to a different destination from a destination of normal sheets. Resuming the interrupted job is instructed by a user, and an image to be printed on the defective sheet is formed on a sheet newly fed from a sheet feeder, and the sheet is discharged to the destination of normal sheets, and sheets placed on the inserter are discharged to the same.

  • Patent number: 10362189
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a moving unit, a first detecting unit, and a second detecting unit. The moving unit moves a calibration plate in the main scanning direction relatively to a reading apparatus. The calibration plate is a plate for calibrating the reading apparatus. The reading apparatus has a reading unit and reading glass. The reading unit is arranged in the main scanning direction. The reading glass is disposed on a reading surface side of the reading unit. The first detecting unit detects an abnormality on the calibration plate from reading results. The reading results are obtained in such a manner that, while the moving unit is controlled to move the calibration plate, the reading unit reads the calibration plate. The second detecting unit detects an abnormality on the reading glass from the reading results.

  • Patent number: 10339952
Abstract: Systems and apparatuses are described to automatically balance acoustic channel sensitivity. A computer readable medium containing executable computer program instructions, which when executed by an acoustic signal processing system, cause the acoustic signal processing system to perform a process that includes calculating a long-term power level of a main acoustic signal to obtain an averaged main acoustic signal. Segments of the main acoustic signal are excluded from the averaged main acoustic signal using a desired voice activity detection signal. A long-term power level of a reference acoustic signal is calculated to obtain an averaged reference acoustic signal. Segments of the reference acoustic signal are excluded from the averaged reference acoustic signal using the desired voice activity detection signal. An amplitude correction signal is created using the averaged main acoustic signal and the averaged reference acoustic signal.

  • Patent number: 10321014
Abstract: An image reading unit reads a source document image in 600 dpi, and a resolution conversion unit converts the resolution of the image to 75 dpi. An inclination detection unit detects inclination of the source document image. When a character conversion unit is to execute character recognition after cropping, a mode setting unit sets a quality-first mode. The inclination correction unit corrects the inclination of the image of 600 dpi, according to the inclination of the source document image detected by the inclination detection unit. A document image clipping unit clips out the source document image, and the resolution conversion unit converts the resolution of the source document image to 200 dpi. Thereafter, the character conversion unit executes the character recognition.

Abstract: There is provided systems and method for interactive voice response interface for webpage navigation. An existing webpage may be altered so that the webpage and corresponding forms offer Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to a user. A JavaScript library of other software component corresponding to the IVR interface may be downloaded to the user's system and/or browser when the user accesses the webpage. The webpage includes HTML tags corresponding to elements or a separate file/database may include links to the elements. The HTML tags and/or file/database correspond to an IVR flow of information. The JavaScript library is built to interpret the HTML tags and/or file/database so the IVR flow of information may be presented to the user. Thus, when a user engages the interactive mode, the JavaScript library may present the IVR flow to the user, interpret input from the user, and send the input to the underlying webpage.
