  • Patent number: 10469984
Abstract: A location based information providing system operates utilizing a communicably coupled mobile device and a mobile software application communicating with its remote server installed on the mobile device and providing a user interface for operation. The mobile device includes a GPS module, a compass, an aiming device and a digital map communicating with remote server of the digital map. A user points the mobile device at a building and the software extrapolates a straight line intermediate the mobile device and the building. The location of the mobile device is determined utilizing the GPS module and a check along the extrapolated straight line by cross referencing with the digital map is executed until a potential identity of the building is determined. The user is sent an image and data of the identity of the building. A widened search range angle is executed if the mobile device is close to the building.

  • Patent number: 10455462
Abstract: Embodiments for selective optimized roaming include receiving an indication that a connected device is at a cell edge of a first network. When an alternate access point cannot provide an alternate connection for the connected device, connections to other networks are assessed. This assessment includes receiving radio frequency (RF) signals for a second network and determining, from received RF signals, that the second network provides a better network connection. When the second network can provide a better network connection the connection to the first network is terminated.

  • Patent number: 10326890
Abstract: A charging server stores records corresponding to each of multiple subscriber identifiers associated with respective mobile devices. At least one record contains a counter value corresponding to one of multiple counter identifiers. The charging server receives a request from a policy server via a network, containing one of the subscriber identifirs and a session identifier. Responsive to receiving the request, the charging server determines whether the request includes any counter identifiers. When the request does not include any counter identifiers, the charging server determines whether the record corresponding to the received subscriber identifier contains any counter values. When the record includes at least one counter value, the charging server establishes a communications session with the policy server and transmits the at least one counter value to the policy server. When the record does not include any counter values, the charging server establishes a communications session with the policy server.

  • Patent number: 10292127
Abstract: In a system for geopositioning receivers in areas substantially inaccessible to satellite signals, multiple access points configured to periodically transmit management frames (i) via a single shared communication channel and (ii) using a modulation scheme associated with a rate of at least 50 Mbps. A database stores respective locations for each of the access points. A portable computing device is configured to retrieve the location of the access points from the database and, when moving through a region in which the of access points are disposed, receive at least one management frame from each of the access points within a limited time interval on the single shared communication channel. The portable computing device is further configured to determine a current position of the portable computing device based on the management frames using the retrieved locations of the access points.

  • Patent number: 10278155
Abstract: A plurality of first wireless devices monitor a ranging exchange of transmissions between a target wireless device and a second wireless device in order to record for each of the plurality of first wireless devices a time of reception of a first transmission that is sent from the second wireless device to the target wireless device and a time of reception of a second transmission that is sent from the target wireless device to the second wireless device. Using a timing error computed from the estimated location, a modification is made of the time of transmission of the first transmission to produce a first modified timestamp and of the time of reception of the second transmission to produce a second modified timestamp. A ranging measurement is computed of the target wireless device relative to the second wireless device using the first modified timestamp and the second modified timestamp.
