Abstract: A device and system can physically position a camera lens between the eyes of the image of the person onscreen in a video conference. To position the lens, a mechanical device may position or move the camera lens. The mechanical device can include a movable armature that can move a small camera head (i.e., a lens with or without supporting electronics) from a first position of the computer monitor (e.g., the frame of the monitor) to a second position onscreen. The second position can place the lens near or over the image of the other party, for example, between the eyes of the onscreen image of the other party.

Abstract: Managing a video conference includes presenting, to a plurality of participants of the video conference, a channel pane containing information for the video conference that is controlled by a presenter, the channel pane being provided on a background that is visible to the plurality of participants and superimposing a dynamic image of the presenter on the background. The dynamic image of the presenter is continuously captured by a camera. Managing a video conference also includes adjusting the dynamic image of the presenter to prevent obscuring the information of the channel pane and/or to focus attention of the participants to specific information of the channel pane. The dynamic image of the presenter may be adjusted in response to the channel pane being enlarged and/or moved and/or by shrinking and/or by making the dynamic image semi-transparent. The channel pane may include a physical medium that the presenter actuates.

  • Patent number: 11297281
Abstract: In aspects of manage a video conference session in a multi-tasking environment, a computing device has a display screen to display a user interface of a foreground active application, such as a device application or a video conference session. The computing device implements a content control module that determines a user is designated as a participant of the video conference session, detects that a remote user connects to the video conference session from a remote device, and determines the device application is the foreground active application with the user interface of the device application displayed on the display screen. The content control module can then initiate to surface the user interface of the video conference session for display on the display screen responsive to the remote user connecting to the video conference session and the video conference session not being the foreground active application.

  • Patent number: 11283923
Abstract: In order to address the above-mentioned need, a method for routing civilian calls to an associated public-safety officer is provided herein. During operation, a call processor receives a civilian call having a source identifier number identifying a source of the call and a target identifier number identifying a target of the call. A current status priority of the associated public-safety officer is determined as a function of the current assignment status, and when the current status priority is less than the incident record priority, the civilian call is routed directly to a mobile device associated with the associated public-safety officer. When the current status priority is greater than the incident record priority, the civilian call is routed directly to one of a public-safety answering point or an automated voice mail system.
