Abstract: A printer includes a memory storing instructions for authenticating a login user and determining whether a user identity information is included in a print data. When the user identity information is included in the print data, the instructions cause the printer to determine whether the login user is identical with a data sender user having sent the print data. When the login user is identical with the data sender user, the instructions cause the printer to print the pint data. When the login user is not identical with the data sender user, the instructions cause the printing portion to not print the print data. When the user identity information is not included in the print data, the instructions cause the printer to print the print data irrespective of whether the login user is identical with the date sender user.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for content aware digital image enhancement. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods analyze content of a digital image portraying a document with graphics and/or text and generate a cleaning confidence map. Specifically, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods generate a cleaning confidence map indicating a likelihood that each pixel in the digital image portrays text or a graphic. Moreover, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods utilize the cleaning confidence map as a reflection of how aggressively to modify digital images. In particular, in one or more embodiments, the disclosed systems and methods utilize the cleaning confidence map to remove shadows, identify and clean background pixels, and correct contrast in relation to the digital image.

Abstract: A method of controlling an image forming apparatus using a user terminal includes displaying a popup window corresponding to an event generated in the image forming apparatus, determining whether at least one user terminal is connected to the image forming apparatus, and applying a previously set timeout to the popup window according to the connection of the user terminal.

Abstract: In a network environment, an e-mail to which an image obtained by a scanner (image obtaining device) is attached is stored in a folder on a Web mail service, not via a terminal. Therefore an application is prepared such that management and communication between a terminal, an MFP (scanner) and an e-mail service are executable via themselves. As a result, the e-mail to which the image obtained by the scanner is attached can be stored on the Web mail service, not via a terminal only by operating the application without setting up a driver of the scanner MFP to the terminal.

The printing program causes the computer to function as an available capacity determining circuit and a print data transmitting circuit. The available capacity determining circuit determines an available capacity available for a print job in a storage device of the image forming apparatus. The print data transmitting circuit transmits print data to the image forming apparatus, the print data being adapted to the available capacity determined by the available capacity determining circuit. The print data transmitting circuit converts the variable print data into print data without the reuse data and transmits the converted print data to the image forming apparatus in a specific case where the available capacity is less than the variable printing capacity.
