The processor generates the combined object data that includes the at least two selected object data selected by the second selecting, as at least two setting object data. The processor second stores the generated combined object data. The processor prints a print image on the print medium, using the printing mechanism, based on the combined object data.

Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a control unit that generates a valid region signal corresponding to the length of a paper sheet of a regular size in the conveyance direction thereof, and performs control to form an image on the paper sheet based on the valid region signal, wherein, when an image is formed on a long paper sheet having a longer length than the paper sheet of the regular size, the control unit generates the valid region signal in each channel, performs control for generating the next valid region signal in a period during which the valid region signal is not generated in any of the channels, generates a continuous valid region signal corresponding to the long paper sheet by combining the valid region signals in the channels, and performs control to form an image by reading out image data based on the continuous valid region signal.

Abstract: The present invention intends to improve usability in entering print data using a hot folder. If exceptional setting for the page is set in the print setting, which is to be applied to the print data entered into the folder, when it is detected that the print data is entered into the folder, the total number of pages of the print data is calculated, and whether the calculated total number of pages fulfills the exceptional setting in the print setting or not is determined. If the calculated total number of pages fulfills the exceptional setting according to the determination, the print job including the print data and the setting of the print setting is generated. If the calculated total number of pages does not fulfill the exceptional setting, the print setting and the print data are matched.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for selecting a paper source for image printing are provided. A user accesses a service available from a print server for printing an image. The print server may download the image from a storage server over a network. The print server automatically identifies a list of paper sizes corresponding with a list of available paper sources, and selects a scaling ratio for fitting the image into one of the paper sizes. The print server generates a scaled image based on the selected scaling ratio and sends the scaled image to a printer for the scaled to be printed from a selected paper source.

In one embodiment, the scanning device comprises in part: a transparent pane (platen) whereon a hardcopy print is placed; a scan head comprising optical sensors which output a signal comprising an image of that hardcopy print; a plurality of LEDs positioned such that a topside of the platen is illuminated; and a processor for instructing the scan head to pre-scan the print. During the pre-scan, optical sensors comprising the scan head sense light from the LEDs of areas of the platen not covered by the hardcopy print at a first intensity and sense light from the LEDs of areas of the platen which are covered by the print at a second intensity. The processor determines the size of the hardcopy print from the first and second intensity levels.

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a job ticket controller that receives a print job and an associated job ticket, and processes the job ticket to identify a group of logical pages that share common attribute values. The job ticket controller caches a shared copy of the attribute values in memory for the group, and identifies static attribute values and dynamic attribute values in the shared copy. Responsive to a request to update a dynamic attribute value of a logical page that belongs to the group, the job ticket controller copies the dynamic attribute values to a separate copy, performs the update, and then provides the separate copy and the static attribute values of the shared copy in response to a request of attribute information of the logical page.
