Abstract: Provided are a printer, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium and a scanner-profile creation method. In a printer including a print engine, a scanner and a color measurement device, or a printing system including a printer, a scanner and a color measurement device, a controller creates a scanner profile by using RGB values and color measurement values obtained by measuring a first color chart with the scanner and color measurement device, and determines a first color gamut and a second color gamut of the printer by using one or both of RGB values and color measurement values obtained by measuring the first color chart and a second color chart, respectively, where the second color chart includes at least color patches in specific colors representing a color gamut of the printer. The controller further corrects the scanner profile by comparing the first color gamut and the second color gamut.

  • Patent number: 10252513
Abstract: Certain examples described herein relate to the use of three-dimensional threshold matrices in the production of three-dimensional objects. In one case, data values for a three-dimensional matrix for use in halftoning are assigned based on a structural volume coverage representation. In certain described cases, the structural volume coverage representation defines a probabilistic distribution of at least two different structures available for the production of the three-dimensional object. A convex combination of the at least two different structures is determined, based on data values of the structure volume coverage representation. A data value may be assigned to the three-dimensional matrix based on the convex combination determined. The resultant three-dimensional matrix is used in a halftoning operation to control a structure distribution in the three-dimensional object.

  • Patent number: 10235611
Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a processing unit group forming section, a converting section, and plural raster image processors. The processing unit group forming section forms plural processing unit groups by grouping plural processing units included in a print job. The converting section converts, for each of the plural processing units, the print job into intermediate data so as to form plural intermediate data groups corresponding to the plural processing unit groups. The plural raster image processors correspond to the plural intermediate data groups, each of the plural raster image processors performing a conversion process of converting a corresponding one of the plural intermediate data groups into raster data.

  • Patent number: 10237449
Abstract: An image reading apparatus includes a light source, a detector, and an image processing unit that processes an image so as to determine a color and density of each pixel based on image signals detected by the detector. The image processing unit includes a determination unit that compares a target pixel and adjacent front and rear pixels and that determines a degree of matching of the target pixel to a condition for the target pixel to be a color shift pixel between the adjacent front and rear achromatic color pixels based on a pattern of the color and density. The image processing unit further includes a correction unit that variably sets a color shift correction amount based on the degree of matching, and that corrects the image signal by the color shift correction amount such that the target pixel which is the color shift pixel becomes an achromatic color pixel.

  • Patent number: 10200563
Abstract: An image processing apparatus includes a reading device and at least one processor. The reading device reads a document into image data of a document image with a first resolution and a second resolution that are different from each other. The first resolution is used for reading the document in a main scanning direction. The second resolution is used for reading the document in a sub-scanning direction perpendicular to the main scanning direction. One or more processors detect an inclination angle of the document image corresponding to inclination of the document, obtain a distortion angle of the document image based on the inclination angle and a ratio between the first resolution and the second resolution, and correct distortion of the document image using the distortion angle.
