  • Patent number: 9585191
Abstract: Various embodiments of electronic communication systems and methods in which an infrastructure in-motion adapts from a first set of communication parameters to a second set of communication parameters while moving from one geographical region to a second geographical region, and associated transmission pattern of the infrastructure in-motion may be modified to either avoid a problem of multiple-region-coverage or to resolve such a problem once it has arisen. The infrastructure in-motion may be a base station or other infrastructure, and any or all of multiple techniques such as beam switching, beam selection, phased array, and null-steering, may be used to modify a transmission pattern. In various alternative embodiments, infrastructure in-motion in one geographical region establishes a first backhaul link with a first core network, moves to a second geographical region, and then establishes a second backhaul ink with a second core network.

  • Patent number: 9544078
Abstract: A system for optimizing short-term stability of a clock source clock pulse synchronized with a long-term stable reference-clock transmits clock numbers of a first reference clock to the clock source, between an initialization time and several times within a data-packet network. The clock pulse is adjusted by controlling a difference between clock numbers of the first reference clock received in the clock source and clock numbers of the first reference clock between the initialization time and the reception times of the clock numbers of the first reference clock. Clock numbers of a second reference clock are transmitted to the clock source with the clock number of at least one second reference-clock source at individual times. The maximum difference between the first and the second reference clock is known. The difference between the clock pulse of the clock source and each second reference clock is limited to an adjustable threshold value.

  • Patent number: 9541938
Abstract: This invention relates to a network architecture for data communication between data sources and data destinations via network nodes and at least one data concentrator. According to the invention the nodes (2, 4) are conceived to communicate with a data concentrator (1) in both directions either via a permanently operative network (8) in the multihop mode or via an occasionally operative network (5) in wireless connection with mobile user nodes (6) in the nomadic mode. Means for commutation are provided to detect faulty multihop nodes and to activate nomadic nodes instead until the fault disappears, in order to maintain the overall functionality of the network. Moreover the network according to the invention allows the data collected by mobile users to be shared with other mobile users, thus forming a peer-to-peer network.

  • Patent number: 9531564
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for detecting overlay end points which are a single physical hop away and employing a simplified overlay header instead of a regular overlay header for communications with the identified end points. The simplified overlay header may carry overlay protocol related forwarding and peer information and may be designed to carry locally significant forwarding information which avoids overlay lookup related overhead on encapsulation and decapsulation operations. The simplified overlay header may be handled in the same forwarding pipeline pass as the handling of the inner frame and may work across different forwarding engines. Upon detection of a single hop link/keepalive failure, the backup overlay (original overlay header) may be used for forwarding.
