Abstract: An Asset Management System and a method for managing a fleet of assets is provided. The system is capable of determining use states and high-use periods of a fleet of mobile workstations. Use states are determined by sensors resident on mobile workstations, the sensors operable to detect the occurrence of a specified event. The Asset Management System is able to interpret data sent by the sensors and determine a type of use and use state for each mobile workstation based on the data or lack of data sent by the sensors. The Asset Management System is operable to determine periods of high-use across the fleet of mobile workstations. The Asset Management System is also operable to determine a return-on-investment level of each mobile workstation in the fleet and generate a heat map based on those levels.

  • Patent number: 10795018
Abstract: This disclosure describes presence-detection devices that detect movement of a person in an environment by emitting ultrasonic signals into the environment, and characterizing the change in the frequency, or the Doppler shift, of the reflections of the ultrasonic signals off the person caused by the movement of the person. In addition to detecting movement, and thus presence of a person, the presence-detection devices may include a microphone array to perform techniques for identifying a direction of movement of the person, and also to perform techniques for identifying a number of people that are in the room. Additionally, the techniques described herein include processing audio signals in such a way to allow for the use of on-board loudspeakers to transmit ultrasonic signals at out-of-band frequencies.

  • Patent number: 10750978
Abstract: Patient support apparatuses include a frame, support surface, and a controller. The controller provides notification to a user of a service event relating to the patient support apparatus. The controller limits functionality of a component of the patient support apparatus based upon a severity of the service event. The controller may also, or alternatively, detect when a control is activated by a user and, in response to such activation, determine whether the patient support apparatus has been marked for use or marked for servicing. If marked for use, the controller responds in a first manner, and if marked for service, the controller responds in a different manner. In other embodiments, a method is provided for determining an order in which multiple patient support apparatuses should be service. In still other embodiments, the patient support apparatus automatically changes to an unusable configuration when in need of high priority service.

  • Patent number: 10737616
Abstract: The present invention is a safety and alert system installed in a child seat of a vehicle. The system has at least one weight detector to detect the presence of a child on a child seat. Temperature sensors and a heart monitor will be activated when the presence of a child is detected. A processing unit processes signals received from one of the sensors or a GPS tracker unit, when the body temperature of a child and the inside temperature of a vehicle are not within a preset safe range and/or when the child is unattended for a period of time more than the preset time limit. These signals are then sent to the alerting unit to allow proper action to be taken. A GPS tracker unit tracks the current location of the vehicle and sends location information to the proper authorities. The alerting unit sends sound messages, text messages or electronic emails to a user.

  • Patent number: 10733913
Abstract: Briefly, an intelligent label is associated with a good, and includes one or more permanent and irreversible electrochromic indicators that are used to report the condition of that good at selected points in the movement or usage of that good. These electrochromic indicators provide immediate visual information regarding the status of the good without need to interrogate or communicate with the electronics or processor on the intelligent label. In this way, anyone in the shipping or use chain for the good, including the end user consumer, can quickly understand whether the product is meeting shipping and quality standards. If a product fails to meet shipping or quality standards, the particular point where the product failed can be quickly and easily identified, and information can be used to assure the consumer remains safe, while providing essential information for improving the shipping process.
