  • Patent number: 11308788
Abstract: A wearable computing device may be used to track the efficacy of one or more cleaning actions performed. The device can include one or more sensors that detect and measure motion associated with a cleaning event. In different examples, the movement data generated by the device can be compared to reference movement data to determine if the individual has cleaned all the objects they were expected to clean and/or if the individual has cleaned a given object sufficiently well. As another example, the movement data generated by the device can be analyzed to distinguish cleaning and non-cleaning movement actions as well as to distinguish different types of cleaning actions during cleaning movement. The quality of each cleaning action can be evaluated. In any configuration, the device may perform an operation in response to determining that ineffective cleaning is being performed, causing corrected cleaning action to be performed.

  • Patent number: 11297473
Abstract: The technology relates to actively looking for an assigned passenger prior to a vehicle 100 reaching a pickup location. For instance, information identifying the pickup location and client device information for authenticating the assigned passenger is received. Sensor data is received from a perception system of the vehicle identifying objects in an environment of the vehicle. When the vehicle is within a predetermined distance from the pickup location, authenticating a client device using the client device information is attempted. When the client device has been authenticated, the sensor data is used to determine whether a pedestrian is within a first threshold distance of the vehicle. When a pedestrian is determined to be within the first threshold distance of the vehicle, the vehicle is stopped prior to reaching the pickup location, to wait for the pedestrian within the first threshold distance of the vehicle to enter the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 11288561
Abstract: An anti-tampering device for an RFID tag according to various aspects of the present technology may include a flexible circuit card and an anti-tamper sticker. The anti-tamper sticker may be configured to include a circuit printed on a surface of the anti-tamper sticker that is electrically coupled to the circuit card. The printed circuit may be comprised of conductive ink extending between a pair of vias that are connected to vias on the circuit card when the anti-tamper sticker is positioned over the circuit card. Any attempt to remove the anti-tamper sticker causes the printed ink to disrupt the electrical connection between the two vias breaking a circuit with the circuit card. The circuit card may be configured to respond to the disruption to indicate that the RFID tag has been compromised.

  • Patent number: 11270561
Abstract: An anti-theft device having an inductive charging coil for wirelessly powering an article of merchandise. A retention member is configured to be attached to the merchandise. A pedestal configured to removably support the retention member. Complementary contacts on the retention member and the pedestal are configured to provide electrical power from the pedestal to the inductive charging coil, when the retention member is at rest on the pedestal. The retention member has an optical transmitter configured to communicate optical signals to an optical sensor. When the article of merchandise requests power increase, the optical transmitter emits a corresponding optical signal, which causes a control unit to increase an output voltage of a power supply supplying power to the electrical contacts of the pedestal. In this manner, an optical communication channel is used to increase the power wirelessly provided from the inductive charging coil to the merchandise.

  • Patent number: 11260816
Abstract: The proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor is a safety device. The proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor detects the presence of a child in a child safety seat. The child is in the custody of a custodian. The proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor measures the span of the distance between the child safety seat and the custodian. If, while a child is detected in the child safety seat, the span of the distance between the child safety seat and the custodian is greater than a previously determined distance, the proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor sends an alarm directly to the custodian. If the custodian fails to respond to the alarm within a previously determined amount of time, the proximity alarm and child seat pressure sensor sends an alarm informing the appropriate authority of the location of an unattended child.

  • Patent number: 11238324
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of gathering data from a hybrid RFID chip to determine usage of an item or article of clothing using a mobile device like a phone, laptop, or tablet. The hybrid RFID chip consists of a processor, a memory, a radio transceiver, a power harvesting antenna, and an impedance circuit that converts ambient radio frequency (RF) energy to electrical energy. The RFID chip receives a first power level from ambient RF energy and periodically broadcasts an identity. The mobile device can receive the broadcast identity, store the identity, transmit the identity and location to a remote server, and receive a notification message from the remote server. The remote serve can determine usage of the item or article of clothing by comparing current records to previous records of RFID chip identity, location, and mobile device application identity.

  • Patent number: 11226418
Abstract: In an example embodiment, a GNSS receiver may calculate protection levels for velocity and course over ground computed at a GNSS receiver. Specifically, the GNSS receiver may obtain Doppler measurements and variance measurements based on satellite signals received from at least five GNSS satellites. The GNSS receiver may utilize a least squares method to calculate the velocity states (e.g., x-velocity state, y-velocity state, and z-velocity state) and the clock bias for the GNSS receiver. The GNSS receiver may calculate the slope for each Doppler measurement on each velocity state. The GNSS receiver may then select the maximum slope for each velocity state and scale up the maximum slopes by a non-centrality parameter to calculate the protection level for each velocity state in the ECEF frame. The GNSS receiver may convert the velocity protection levels to NEU velocity protection levels to then calculate a protection level for course over ground.

  • Patent number: 11227472
Abstract: The product location system process includes steps for forming an ad hoc peer-to-peer communication network by way of multiple connected devices communicating with one another, each of which include a communication circuit for sending and receiving data communications. Location information for each of the connected devices within the ad hoc peer-to-peer communication network may then be ascertained based at least in part on bi-lateral exchange of data communications among the multiple connected devices within the ad hoc peer-to-peer communication network. That location information may then be relayed by one or more of the connected devices to an external network for storage in a database, and the location information in that database may then be accessed in real-time from, e.g., by a Smartphone.
