  • Patent number: 11383955
Abstract: An illustrative example elevator control system includes a plurality of sway sensors situated within a hoistway of the building. The sway sensors respectively include a contact surface situated to be contacted by a vertically extending elongated member of an elevator when the elongated member moves laterally in the hoistway. The sway sensors respectively provide an indication of contact between the contact surface and the elongated member. A controller receives an indication of building movement and the indications from the sway sensors. The controller determines whether at least one condition exists in the hoistway based on the indications and implements an adjustment to elevator movement control when the at least one condition exists.

  • Patent number: 11365088
Abstract: A monitoring device for monitoring a passenger transport system includes at least one sensor, a control unit, a bus, and at least one bus node connected to the bus. The bus node has a microprocessor and an inspection unit for data exchange with the control unit. A first program module in the microprocessor detects a state change of the sensor that is connected to an input of the microprocessor via a transmission line and spontaneously transmits a corresponding state message to the control unit. A second program module in the inspection unit, after receiving an instruction from the control unit, transmits an activation signal to a coupling point in the bus node that simulates a state change of the sensor, the activation signal being superimposed on a sensor signal and/or being coupled into a power supply line connected to the sensor.

  • Patent number: 11334619
Abstract: A method, apparatus and system that enables a user to find and act-upon a sound-containing composition, in a group of compositions. One or more sound-segments, which are intended to prompt a user's memory, may be associated with each composition in a group of compositions. A recognition sound-segment may include a portion of its associated composition, which is more recognizable to users than the beginning part of its associated composition. A recognition-segment may contain one or more highly recognizable portion(s) of a composition. When the user is trying to locate or select a particular composition, the recognition-segments are navigated and played-back to the user, based upon a user-device context/mode. When a user recognizes the desired composition from its recognition-segment, the user may initiate a control action to playback; arrange; and/or act-upon, the composition that is associated with the currently playing recognition-segment.

  • Patent number: 11305965
Abstract: An elevator has a drive unit displacing an elevator car in an elevator hoistway, an elevator controller controlling operation of the drive unit, multiple safety switches switchable upon occurrence of safety relevant events, and a safety chain overlay control unit including a safety PLC. The PLC has first connectors connected to first safety switch contacts and second connectors connected to second safety switch contacts. The PLC monitors a current safety status of the elevator and identifies a safety critical status by detecting when at least one of the safety switches changes its switching state and comparing the current switching states of the first and second safety switches. The PLC interrupts a main energy supply to the drive unit in response to the safety critical status of the elevator. Comparing switching states of the safety switches connected to the first and second connectors also enables detecting faulty safety switches.

  • Patent number: 11308926
Abstract: The present invention provides method and system for composing music with chord accompaniment. One or more keys on a first keyboard are selected by end-users to generate a chord progression, and a computer generates a chord progression MIDI file, and associates the file with a first physical card that is embedded with a unique machine-readable ID (UID). After the UID of the first physical card is subsequently recognized, the chord progression MIDI file is retrieved and played. While the chord progression MIDI file is played, certain keys on a second keyboard are highlighted, and each of the highlighted keys on a second keyboard represents a music note that is in harmony with a particular chord in the chord progression while the particular chord is being played, and one or more of the highlighted keys on the second keyboard are selected by the end-user to compose a melody.
