  • Patent number: 9501613
Abstract: Health and wellness management technology, in which events that relate to activity within the monitored property are sensed based on output from sensors located at a monitored property. Behaviors are detected based on the sensed events that relate to activity within the monitored property and, in accordance with the detected behaviors, one or more models are created based on a likelihood of similarly expressed events happening at similar times with similar characteristics. Additional behaviors detected after creation of the one or more models are evaluated against the one or more models to determine whether the additional behaviors are consistent with the one or more models. At least one action is performed based on the determination of whether the additional behaviors are consistent with the one or more models.

  • Patent number: 9378336
Abstract: A computer implemented method for managing health-related data captures an image from a display of an exercise machine using a camera, has the images processed to extract the text data from the captured images, and analyzes the text data to identify information relating to extrinsic physical activity performed by a person at the exercise machine. The results are stored in memory and a profile specific to the person is updated. The profile comprises a log of past exercise activity that allows the person to track his or her activity and progress and overall health. The profile can be accessed by the person through a portal such as using a smart phone or a computer program or web browser. The results can be combined with other data to arrive at a health score which can be published through the portal while personal data remains masked from public inspection.

  • Patent number: 9082178
Abstract: There is disclosed an embodiment for performing a calibration of a sensor by using an image registration between a three-dimensional ultrasound image and computerized tomography (CT) image. An ultrasound image forming unit includes an ultrasound probe and forms a three-dimensional ultrasound image of a target object. A sensor is coupled to the ultrasound probe. A memory stores a three-dimensional computed tomography (CT) image of the target object and position information on a position between the three-dimensional ultrasound image and the sensor. A processor performs image registration between the three-dimensional CT image and the three-dimensional ultrasound image to form a first transformation function for transforming a position of the sensor to a corresponding position on the three-dimensional CT image and performs calibration of the sensor by applying the position information to the first transformation function.
