  • Patent number: 11821828
Abstract: The system and method for determining physical stability of dispersed particles in flowing liquid suspensions is performed by passing a fluid with suspended particulates in a column of filter elements having progressively smaller porosities. The fluid is received by a fluid supply receptacle and then passed through the column of filter elements. The filter elements are arranged so that successive filters are downstream of each other, with successive filters having successively smaller porosities. The porosity of an initial filter element has a sufficiently large porosity to filter a largest particle size intended for detection, and a final filter element has at least a sufficiently small porosity to filter a smallest particle size intended for detection. This results in the successive filters separating successively smaller particles from the fluid. Average particle size and particle count are obtained by removing a mesh filter element and performing SEM analysis on the filtered particles.

  • Patent number: 11815491
Abstract: A system and method for monitoring a dry gas seal positionable between a stationary housing and a rotatable shaft. A plurality of sense elements may rotate in response to the rotation of the rotatable shaft and a speed sensor may sense the speed of the rotatable shaft at speeds below one thousand rotations per minute based on sensing the plurality of sense elements. An acoustic emissions sensor may sense when a first seal face and a second seal face forming a seal interface of the dry gas seal are in an operational condition relative to one another. A processor may receive output signals from the speed sensor and the acoustic emissions sensor, and may establish an operating condition of the dry gas seal based on the signal from the speed sensor when the first seal face and the second seal face reach the operational condition relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 11761747
Abstract: An apparatus for checking the length (H) of a chamfer (7) delimited by a first surface (5) and by an edge (S), comprises two feelers (15, 25)—movably connected to a same supporting frame (20)—and respective transducers (16,26). The transducers supply signals (T1, T2) indicative of displacements of the respective feelers along mutually perpendicular directions (Y, X). A checking method includes moving the supporting frame at a constant speed so that, during the movement, one of the feelers scans the chamfer and the other cooperates with the first surface. The signals of the respective transducers are acquired and transmitted synchronously to a processing unit (40) which processes them together with information on the mutual position of the two feelers to obtain the length of the chamfer.
