  • Patent number: 11018886
Abstract: An IP multicast group may include a plurality of group members corresponding to a plurality of host receivers that are connected to router nodes of a multicast distribution tree and joined in the multicast group. At least some of the router nodes may store a plurality of group member indicator bits associated with the multicast group. Each group member indicator bit may be assigned to a respective one of the group members and indicate whether the respective group member is reachable downstream from the router node. During IP multicast, the router node may receive an IP multicast message having a destination address field, a source address field, and a payload field. The payload field may include one or more data items of a multicast data stream. The destination address field may include a multicast group address for addressing communications to the multicast group.

  • Patent number: 10986561
Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for managing wireless local area network (WLAN) density. The WLAN density is managed to limit how many APs can utilize a first portion of a first frequency band in a geographical area. A limit of APs may be based on an estimated amount of interference that would be caused by the APs to an incumbent system that also uses the first portion of the frequency band. The WLAN density control may prevent the estimated amount of interference caused by APs in a geographical area from exceeding a threshold interference level based on the presence of the incumbent system. WLAN density control may involve the AP configuration of a first AP or may involve the density of client devices associated with one or more APs in the geographical area.

  • Patent number: 10924995
Abstract: This disclosure is directed to controlling a wake-up radio (WUR) in a wireless station side client device (STA-device). In one example, after the STA-device has received negotiation parameters from a wireless access point (AP) to establish a wireless association as a network connection between the STA-device and the AP. The PCR may be disabled in favor of the WUR. The WUR, which may use less power than the PCR, may then monitor for Beacon Frames (e.g., in the disclosed beacon loop) and Discovery Frames (e.g., in the disclosed discovery loop). Based on a state machine, that may be implemented as computer instructions executed by a hardware processor of the STA-device. Generally, the STA-device may use the WUR and state machine implementation to determine a proper time to re-enable the PCR for communication with the AP.

  • Patent number: 10863505
Abstract: Wireless communications systems and methods related to allocating resource blocks and resource block groups in a system band in order to reduce overhead associated with resource allocation. To reduce overhead, the wireless communication device communicates a signal in a control channel that indicates a general area and a resource block in the general area that stores data. The wireless communication device then communicates multiple resource blocks that include the resource block and communicates the data in the resource block using the signal. To reduce overhead, the wireless communication device also communicates multiple mappings for each resource block group into a set of resource blocks and a signal in a control channel that selects one of the multiple mappings. The communication device then determines resource blocks that are included in the resource block group according to the mapping, and communicates data in these resource blocks.
