  • Patent number: 6765352
Abstract: A photocathode and an electron tube in which the photocathode plate can be securely fixed without using any adhesive. Even under the severe condition that a high vibration resistance is required or thermal stress occurs because of great temperature variation, it can be used widely for an image intensifier, a streak tube, or a photomultiplier. The photocathode plate of the photocathode is sandwiched between a faceplate and a support plate. First pins embedded in the faceplate are joined to the support plate. Therefore, the photocathode plate can be readily fixed securely to the faceplate without using any adhesive.

The first and second openings are chosen based on the first voltage, the second voltage, the first distance, the second distance and the third distance. The opening focuses the electrons emitted from the cathode onto the anode to a spot size preferably less than 40 nanometers. The force created between the cathode and anode is minimized by the structure of the lens.

  • Patent number: 6703775
Abstract: In an electron gun for a color cathode ray tube apparatus of this invention, one intermediate electrode is arranged between a final acceleration electrode and a focus electrode that make up a main lens, and a voltage divided by a voltage dividing resistor for dividing a voltage to be applied to the final acceleration electrode is applied to the intermediate electrode. A dynamic voltage which increases along with an increase in deflection amount of an electron beam is applied to the focus electrode, and a dielectric portion is formed between the final acceleration electrode and the focus electrode. This dielectric portion is formed on the intermediate electrode. Hence, elliptical distortion of electron beam spots is decreased on the entire surface of a phosphor screen, thereby providing a color cathode ray tube apparatus with a good performance on the entire surface of the phosphor screen.

  • Patent number: 6621203
Abstract: The present invention relates to a deflection unit for mounting on an in-line type cathode ray tube comprising a coil body including grooves for receiving wound coil wires, the grooves extending substantially in a straight line. The groove extension of at least one groove is changed at at least one location such that the coil wires received in the groove become curved in the area of the changed groove extension. In a preferred embodiment the grooves are separated from each other by groove walls which in the area of the changed groove extension comprise a thickening and optionally a bulge. The coil wires wound onto the coil body form the horizontal coil or the vertical coil. The arrangement serves the selective fine adjustment of the deflection fields for eliminating convergence, coma and/or geometry errors.
