Abstract: Shock resistant bearing for a timepiece including an elastic structure and a central portion carried by the elastic structure, the central portion having a blind hole intended to receive a pivot of a rotating wheel set of the timepiece. The elastic structure and the central portion are formed by a single-piece part formed of single crystal quartz and the blind hole has at least partially the shape of a truncated or non-truncated trigonal pyramid against which the end of the pivot abuts. The invention also concerns a method of manufacturing a shock resistant bearing of this type wherein the single-piece wafer is machined in an anisotropic etching bath for single crystal quartz. Preferably, two masks are respectively arranged on the two sides of the wafer to simultaneously etch the quartz from both sides.

  • Patent number: 9292071
Abstract: In an electronic device provided with a resume function, a timer outputs a predetermined signal if a measured time value becomes a set time. Upon receiving the predetermined signal from the timer, a state control unit executes a resume process. A time information receiving unit receives time information that specifies a time interval, at which an application executes a predetermined process. A time interval retaining unit retains a time interval T for restoring the application to an executable state. A defining unit registers a set time with the timer on the basis of the received time information and the time interval T.

  • Patent number: 9261861
Abstract: A radio-controlled timepiece includes the following. A timekeeping unit keeps date and time. A satellite radio wave receiving unit receives a transmitting radio wave of a positioning satellite. A receiving term setting unit sets a receiving term with the satellite radio wave receiving unit. A date/time obtaining unit obtains date/time information from the transmitting radio wave received by the satellite radio wave receiving unit. An elapsed time counting unit counts elapsed time from when the date and time is obtained by the date/time obtaining unit. A first judging unit judges whether the elapsed time is less than a first reference time determined based on a timekeeping error of the timekeeping unit and a format of a signal transmitted from the positioning satellite.

  • Patent number: 9244435
Abstract: A timepiece, which includes an ornamental body; a drive mechanism that moves the ornamental body; an output portion that outputs a sound; and a control portion that performs movement control for outputting a piece of theme music and moving the ornamental body from an initial position. The control portion further performs return control for outputting a piece of ending music and moving the ornamental body to the initial position after the movement control is finished. Under the return control, the outputted and selected pieces of ending music have different lengths depending on whether or not a position of the ornamental body is in front of a reference position. It is thus possible to design the movement pattern of the ornamental body under the movement control, without consideration of the stop positions of the ornamental body at the end of the movement control period; thereby, allowing for a wide variety of appearances for the timepiece.

  • Patent number: 9223294
Abstract: The patent application relates to an automatic winding device used for automatic winding watch, which includes a box body, a rotating seat arranged on the box body and relatively rotatable to the box body, a holding seat fixed on the rotating seat and used for placing the automatic winding watch, a driving mechanism driving the rotating seat to rotate, and a control device controlling the rotating mode of the driving mechanism. The driving mechanism is arranged in the box body. The automatic winding device used for automatic winding watch can be rotatably arranged on the box body through the rotating seat. The watch is sheathed on the holding seat and then placed on the rotating seat. Compared with the existing rotation in a rotating cavity, the patent application reduces the noise, and is beneficial for displaying the watch.
