  • Patent number: 9188962
Abstract: A timing device that includes an anode layer, a cathode layer and an electrolyte attached to a base layer. The anode layer and the cathode layer are placed adjacent to one another along an axis of the timing device. Upon activation of the timing device the anode layer is depleted away from the cathode layer until the timing device is fully expired. Once the timing device is expired, a change is seen indicating that the timing device has expired. In some embodiments, a color change indicates that the timing device has expired. In some embodiments, as the timing device expires electronically readable information is uncovered.

  • Patent number: 9141944
Abstract: A method for synchronizing a first device with a second device may include receiving an alarm activation time from the first device. An alarm may be set on the second device to be the same as the alarm activation time. An indication that the alarm is set on the second device may be sent to the first device. Immediately prior to the alarm activation time, it may be determined that the first device is proximate to the second device, and upon determining that the first device is proximate to the second device, the alarm may be activated on the second device at the alarm activation time. The devices may be considered proximate based on a connection protocol, such as when the first device is able to communicate with the second device over a wired or wireless communication protocol.

  • Patent number: 9116506
Abstract: A timepiece includes a timepiece movement provided with an information display mechanism driven from a power take-off. The display mechanism includes N display members for the information regularly distributed over a perimeter of the movement. The N display members are each pivoted on a drive arbour perpendicularly and can take different first and second radial positions in relation to the center of the movement. The display members are driven in succession over time by a common first annular jumping drive so that each display member changes in succession from the first position to the second position and is held in the second position until the end of a cycle in which all of the display members are in their second position. A second annular drive is arranged to reposition all of the display members in their first position at the start of the following cycle.
