  • Patent number: 11710009
Abstract: A method for determining the authenticity of an identity document is provided that includes capturing, by an electronic device, image data of an identity document. The identity document has a first side and a second side. The image data includes an image of the first side and an image of the second side. The first side includes data about a person associated with the identity document and second side includes a PDF417 barcode which has features. The method also includes determining a class of the identity document. The features of the PDF417 barcode adhere to criteria established for the determined class of the identity document. Moreover, the method includes analyzing the features of the PDF417 barcode for anomalies. In response to determining the features of the PDF417 barcode are free of anomalies, the identity document is determined to be authentic. Otherwise, the identity document is determined to be fraudulent.

  • Patent number: 11699138
Abstract: Systems, methods and tools for securely scheduling appointments, maintenance and repairs of vehicles. The system may be an automated service kiosk available 24 hours a day. A customer can schedule services, drop off and pick up keys for receiving service at any time that may be convenient for the customer, without regard for the normal operating hours of the service provider and may do so without having to interact with an employee of the service provider. Automated customer recognition may be performed using license scanning or biometric scanning. The user may select a service from a menu of services and deposit keys (or key fobs) within the kiosk system or receive keys therefrom. Upon returning to complete the service transaction customers may scan a paper or digital receipt provided during the initial scheduling of the service and tender payment via the kiosk or using digital currency.

  • Patent number: 11698987
Abstract: Systems, devices and automated processes provide robust, computationally-efficient and secure protection of media content or other electronic data stored on a user-supplied storage device through the use of efficient file system encryption. Only certain portions of the content are encrypted by the host device, thereby reducing the computational demand in comparison to encrypting all of the content. By selecting the particular portions to encrypt, the formatting and structure of the stored data can be concealed, thereby making the use of the unencrypted content very difficult, if not impossible.

  • Patent number: 11699053
Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for identifying a narrow-strip two-dimensional bar code. One of the methods includes obtaining an image of the narrow-strip two-dimensional bar code. A first positioning graph and a second positioning graph are detected in the image. A target region is determined from the image based on center positions of the first positioning graph and the second positioning graph, where the target region includes a rectangular region corresponding to the narrow-strip two-dimensional bar code. A data region is determined from the target region, and two-dimensional bar code data is determined from the data region.

Abstract: A first computing device of a multi-part code system includes one or more optical scanners and a network application associated with a network computing device of the multi-part code system. The network application is operable to obtain a second portion of a code associated with a second computing device. The network computing device generated the code for an interaction between the first and second computing device. The network application is further operable to display the second portion of the code on a display area of an interactive display, receive a first portion of the code, and instruct a user to drag the first portion of the code to the display area to align with the second portion of the code. When the first and second portions of the code are aligned, the network application produces the code and sends a finalized interaction notification to the network computing device.

  • Patent number: 11663481
Abstract: The disclosure describes one or more implementations of a neural network architecture pruning system that automatically and progressively prunes neural networks. For instance, the neural network architecture pruning system can automatically reduce the size of an untrained or previously-trained neural network without reducing the accuracy of the neural network. For example, the neural network architecture pruning system jointly trains portions of a neural network while progressively pruning redundant subsets of the neural network at each training iteration. In many instances, the neural network architecture pruning system increases the accuracy of the neural network by progressively removing excess or redundant portions (e.g., channels or layers) of the neural network. Further, by removing portions of a neural network, the neural network architecture pruning system can increase the efficiency of the neural network.

  • Patent number: 11662230
Abstract: A recorder for documenting that a shaft in a rotating machine has been rotated while the rotating machine is stored or otherwise out of service. The recorder includes an elongated strip that is wound on a reel disposed adjacent the shaft. The reel is rotatable about an axle that is spaced away from the shaft. A free end of the strip is secured to an outer surface of the shaft and spools onto the shaft as the shaft is rotated, and which unwinds the strip from the reel. Markings are on the strip representing distance from the free end, which visually indicate occurrence and amount of shaft rotation. Types of markings include different colors or patterns, and which change at distances corresponding to shaft circumference. Alternatively, the markings are metered increments illustrating linear distance.

  • Patent number: 11657242
Abstract: There is provided an information code in which first cells have lightness that is intermediate between lightness of second cells and lightness of a predetermined marginal area. The first cells and the second cells are configured to have a difference in lightness therebetween sufficiently smaller than a difference in lightness between the first cells and the predetermined marginal area, in a predetermined area occupying at least a part of the code area. There is also provided an information code reader in which colors of an image of the information code captured by an imaging unit are corrected such that the difference in lightness between the first and second cells increases. Using the corrected image, decoding processing is performed to decode the information code.

  • Patent number: 11630962
Abstract: This invention provides an aimer assembly for a vision system that is coaxial (on-axis) with the camera optical axis, thus providing an aligned aim point at a wide range of working distances. The aimer includes a projecting light element located aside the camera optical axis. The beam and received light from the imaged (illuminated) scene are selectively reflected or transmitted through a dichoric mirror assembly in a manner that permits the beam to be aligned with the optical axis and projected to the scene while only light from the scene is received by the sensor. The aimer beam and illuminator employ differing light wavelengths. In a further embodiment, an internal illuminator includes a plurality of light sources below the camera optical axis. Some of the light sources are covered by a prismatic structure for close distance, and other light sources are collimated, projecting over a longer distance.
