  • Patent number: 11696293
Abstract: A mobile communication system capable of reducing energy consumption of a network node in a local area range. When judging that there is a shift trigger, a local eNB shifts from a normal operation to an energy saving operation. In the energy saving operation, the local eNB stops the operation of transmitting at least a part of downlink transmission signals to be transmitted to a user equipment (UE) and performs the operation of receiving an uplink transmission signal transmitted from the UE. When judging that it has received the uplink transmission signal (RACH) in the energy saving operation, the local eNB shifts to the normal operation.

  • Patent number: 11696171
Abstract: A network controller is provided for use with a client device. The network controller includes a memory and a processor configured to execute instructions stored on the memory. The instructions when executed by the processor cause the network controller to set a value of a steering delay based on a steering trigger type, transmit a steering request to steer the client device from a first BSS ID to a second BSS ID, determine whether the client device has steered from the first BSS ID to the second BSS ID during the steering delay measured from the transmission of the steering request, and in response to a determination that the client device has not steered from the first BSS ID to the second BSS ID during the steering delay, increase the value of the steering delay by an increase amount and again transmit the steering request.

  • Patent number: 11677878
Abstract: Communications is the exchange of thoughts, messages, or information. However, whilst immense investments into evolving communications infrastructure supporting multiple communications channels have been made the vast majority of communications models, standards, and developments focus to the transmission of the message as a single process with other aspects of the communications channel are considered simply delays in the communications channel.

  • Patent number: 11641600
Abstract: Systems, methods, and software of managing bandwidth allocated to User Equipment (UE). In one embodiment, a bandwidth management system collects cell load information for a plurality of cells within a Radio Access Network (RAN), and processes the cell load information to determine a cell load status for each of the cells. The system performs bandwidth throttling for the UE by determining a location of the UE, identifying the cell load status for one or more cells in a region of the RAN corresponding with the location of the UE, determining whether the region of the RAN is overloaded based on the cell load status, and controlling a downgrade of bandwidth allocated to the UE in the RAN responsive to a determination that the region is overloaded.

  • Patent number: 11638175
Abstract: A method and a device for receiving transmitting data in in a wireless local area network are provided. The device receives a physical layer protocol data unit (PPDU) from a station over a transmission bandwidth and determines whether the station is a member of a basic service set (BSS) managed by the device based on the PPDU. When the PPDU is a multi-user (MU)-PPDU, the AP determines that the station is not a member of the BSS managed by the AP. Such MU-PPDU includes a first signal field and a second signal field, the first signal field having bandwidth information indicating the transmission bandwidth, the second signal field having user-specific information with allocation for orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) transmission.

  • Patent number: 11622310
Abstract: The described technology is generally directed towards a cellular network area optimizer. The area optimizer observes cellular network conditions at multiple radio access network (RAN) nodes within a target area. Based on observed conditions, the area optimizer applies a set of parameter values at the multiple RAN nodes. The set of parameter values enhances the overall throughput, while maintaining or improving connection retainability and accessibility, of the multiple RAN nodes under the observed conditions. The area optimizer learns different sets of parameter values to apply in response to different observed conditions by making parameter value adjustments and observing the effect of the adjustments on overall throughput of the RAN nodes in the target area.

  • Patent number: 11582642
Abstract: The disclosed technology is directed towards load balancing baseband units in a communications network. A baseband physical layer 1 unit's functions are disaggregated into Layer 1 (L1) distributed units and radio units, instead of deploying full-fledged baseband units at a service? provider's service areas (cells). A load balancer scales up the number of active distributed units based on increased actual demand, and scales down the active distributed units based on decreased demand. The L1 distributed units and radio units can be software-defined network functions, and need not be collocated, whereby the distributed units can be in the cloud or hub remotely located relative to the radio units deployed at the service areas. Examples of load balancing can be load balancing of transmitted data per carrier, per subcarrier, per user equipment, per transmission time interval (TTI/slot), per bearer, or per channel.
