Abstract: The present invention provides a means to concentrate, dry and formulate biomaterials such as polysaccharides, gums and related biopolymers, and microorganisms such as cells, spores, and the like from dilute solutions using spent germ and other oil bearing residues. In addition, the spent germ can serve as a carrier for such biomaterials. The sorbed materials are useful in animal feeds.
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to water dispersible granular pesticide compositions, and methods of making and using the compositions. The pesticide compositions include an inner layer including a first pesticide coated on to a substrate, and an outer layer comprising a second pesticide coated on the inner layer. The outer layer increases the water dispersibility of the granular composition, and protects the first pesticide against hydrolysis and photolysis.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cosmetic composition comprising a pulverulent phase comprising at least one composite powder including titanium dioxide and magnesium oxide. The cosmetic composition according to the present invention is at least comparable in terms of cosmetic effects with conventional cosmetic compositions comprising a conventional composite powder including titanium dioxide and zinc oxide. Therefore, the cosmetic composition is free of any potential problems which may be caused by zinc oxide which is commonly used in conventional cosmetic compositions.
Abstract: Fulvestrant nanosphere/microsphere and preparation method and use thereof are provided in the present invention. The carrier material of the fulvestrant nanosphere/microsphere is methoxy ended polyethylene glycol-polylactic acid block copolymer. The nanosphere/microsphere is prepared by solvent-nonsolvent method, in-liquid drying method and/or spray drying method, and has the features of high drug loading and high encapsulation efficiency, controllable release of medicine and no irritant to application site or blood vessel. The fulvestrant nanosphere/microsphere can be used to treat metastatic advanced breast cancer in post-menopausal woman.
Abstract: Methods for facilitating joint immobilization or fusion using selective estrogen receptor modulator (SERM) such as raloxifene are disclosed. The SERM may be administered systemically or locally. In conjunction with SERM, other therapeutic agents such as calcium, vitamin D, bone morphogenetic protein may be administered simultaneously. The method can similarly be applied to facilitate bone repair, bone healing, and connective tissue healing processes in a patient.
Abstract: There is provided a complex comprising rifaximin and a complexing agent, wherein the complexing agent is a polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) or a cyclodextrin. There is also provided a process for preparing the complex, a pharmaceutical composition including the complex, and therapeutic uses of the complex.
Abstract: A bio-remodable augmentation device including an implantable member configured for maintaining space in a bone defect. The implantable member is formed from a bio-remodable composite having structural properties so as to aid in the generation of new bone tissue and eventually be reabsorbed in the newly formed bone tissue. This structural and bio-remodable implant reduces, if not eliminates, the need to remove the implantable member from the patient once new bone tissue is formed. A kit including the implantable devices and bone growth material is disclosed. Methods of use are also disclosed.
Abstract: Oral dosage forms as a biodegradable, water soluble film for delivering pharmaceutically active agents, particularly diethylstilbestrol and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof to patients through insertion into the mouth of patient and methods for administering pharmaceutically active agents to patients by insertion into the mouth to provide selective uptake of said agents through the mucosa and thus avoiding the gastrointestinal tract.
