  • Patent number: 7589859
Abstract: A print apparatus comprises a memory for storing compressed print information of at least two or more pages transmitted from a host computer, and executes image formation by extracting the compressed print information read from the memory. When nonconformity between an image size of the page to which the print apparatus is executing the image formation and a paper size fed for the relevant page is detected, the compressed print information, for the page in execution of the image formation, subsequent to the read address on the memory at a point of time of the nonconformity detection is read from the memory, and then extracted and abandoned. Thus, the read address on the memory indicates the head of a page subsequent to the page in execution of the image formation.

  • Patent number: 7502137
Abstract: A method using a printing system comprising a controller programmed for rendering imposed documents given media cost considerations is described. The method includes steps of: evaluating a print job; evaluate media loaded within printer; and determining media print options including cost. Additionally, embodiments enable user selection of printing option prior to the printing system or rendering the print job or selecting a printing option based on user profile. The print job is then rendered.

  • Patent number: 7492482
Abstract: An image processing apparatus having an arithmetic processing section for quantizing multi-density level image data and converting the image data into digital halftone image data for outputting. The arithmetic processing section is configured to create a plurality of quantized patterns to determined a dot occurrence information sequence, based on a given initial quantized pattern, such that anti-correlation is increased with respect to the dot occurrence information sequence for a pixel that has already been quantized; to add the plurality of quantized patterns to form a dither mask; and to quantize the multi-density level image data by using the dither mask.

  • Patent number: 7414745
Abstract: A copying apparatus detects as to whether or not an IC chip is present in an original paper. When the IC chip is detected, the copying apparatus reads data from this IC chip. When the read data is additional information, which can be printed as an image, the copying apparatus stops a printing process, and notifies a message indicating that the read data is the additional information to the user and then, waits for an instruction issued by the user. When the user instructs to print the additional information, the copying apparatus prints the image read from the original paper and the additional information read from the IC chip on a printing paper in an output format designated by the user.

  • Patent number: 7352490
Abstract: A method and system to convert an electronic image file described in a page description language containing both contone and non-contone image objects to an intermediate binary format image. The intermediate format image separately encodes the contone and non-contone image objects. The contone image objects are edge-tagged. Prior to printing, the intermediate binary format page image is separated into the contone and non-contone image objects. The contone image objects are converted back to a contone form using the edge tagging to modify the filter weights of a digital filter. The non-contone image objects are converted to contone form by means of a pattern matching scheme.
