  • Patent number: 9967130
Abstract: A dynamic broadcast system and a spectrum management device for use in a dynamic broadcast system. A dynamic white space database unit stores and dynamically updates a dynamic white space database of frequency resources that are assigned for broadcasting broadcast content but can locally not be used for broadcasting. One or more white space devices can access the frequency resources included in the dynamic white space database. A spectrum server dynamically manages the frequency resources included in the dynamic white space database for access by the one or more white space devices.

  • Patent number: 9894124
Abstract: A network communication system may include talkers, listeners, and bridges configured to begin communication of a data stream without first establishing a reservation for the communication. Thereafter, a reservation protocol may be used to confirm the communication, and tear down the communication if the communication is not confirmed or when the communication is complete.

  • Patent number: 9866448
Abstract: A method for DNS processing is provided. The method is executed by an electronic device and includes the following steps: determining a plurality of TTL values, wherein each of the TTL values corresponds to one of a plurality of operating states of the electronic device, and determining whether to remove an entry from a local DNS cache in the electronic device or not according to the TTL value corresponding to the current state among the operating states of the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9843607
Abstract: A system and method for transferring control of media playback between electronic devices. Playback of media content is initiating at a source device and peer-to-peer device pairing is established with a destination device. Media content from the source device is streamed to the destination device and a determination of whether to transfer media playback control to the destination device is made based on characteristics of the media content. The control of media playback may be transferred to the destination device based on the destination device having a local copy of the streaming media content, a playlist with similar characteristics to the streaming media content, a local media content having similar characteristics to the streaming media content, or a local playlist similar to the playlist from the source device. The peer-to-peer device pairing is terminated when media playback control is transferred, thereby preserving battery and processing power to the source device.

  • Patent number: 9766962
Abstract: An application monitoring infrastructure enables application configuration changes on multiple machines across multiple OS types to be tracked, and correlated to performance degradation and outages by receiving change event data associated with change events occurring at each computer in the computer system, each change event data including an identifier for the associated change event, a path to a data container that was changed, a time stamp representative of when the data container was changed, an identifier for an application that is affected by the change to the data container, and the time stamp representative of when the monitored data container was changed, determining a time at which correlation is to be carried out and a target application for which correlation is to be carried out, and identifying change events associated with the target application that have time stamps that are within a predetermined proximity to the determined time.

  • Patent number: 9749174
Abstract: A system and method for dynamically allocating cloud resources includes receiving an application data request from a user and routing the request to a specific cluster of servers. Each application has a record in a database that contains a unique token along with subscriber information. Application requests to the service provider backend, are routed by DNS using an API endpoint name and originating geographic location to appropriate server clusters. When the request reaches the cluster, the load balancer extracts the application token from the URL, looks up the record in the database, and finds the subscriber plan and identity the application is associated with. A load balancer routes the data request to a specific cluster based upon the subscriber plan and identity. The clusters can have different processing speeds and features based upon the subscriber plan with premium plans having better performance than lower end plans.

  • Patent number: 9729382
Abstract: The disclosure discloses a method and an apparatus for realizing load balance in a DHT network, wherein the method comprises: determining the quantity Z of first virtual identifiers according to the node planning of the DHT network and a preset threshold of load unbalance degree, wherein Z is a natural number; equally dividing the whole load space of the DHT network into Z portions, and each portion of the load space is respectively identified by a different first virtual identifier; allocating the Z first virtual identifiers to each node according to the ability of each node so that each node is in charge of the load space corresponding to the first virtual identifier allocated to the node. The disclosure can reduce workload for managing and transferring virtual identifiers while realizing data storage load balance in the DHT network.

  • Patent number: 9712433
Abstract: In one embodiment, a nodal device receives information from each of its neighboring nodes in a network. The information identifies a link quality between the nodal device and each of its neighboring nodes. The link quality information is stored in one or more bloom filters in the nodal device such that a table having a compressed format is provided in the bloom filter. The table includes probabilistic identifiers to identify link quality between the nodal device and each of its neighboring nodes.

  • Patent number: 9654540
Abstract: Apparatus for performing load balancing among network servers connected to an internal IPv6 network. The apparatus comprises a first interface coupled to an external IPv4 or IPv6 network for receiving packets sent across the external network and an IP packet creator coupled to said first interface. This IP packet creator is configured, for each received packet at that interface, to select a network server to be allocated to the packet or identify an already allocated network server. The IP packet creator is further configured to create a corresponding IPv6 packet for transmission over said internal network to the selected or identified network server. The apparatus further comprises a second interface coupled to said internal IPv6 network for transmitting created IPv6 packets across the internal network towards respective selected or identified network servers.

  • Patent number: 9635088
Abstract: The REsilient LOosely Coupled (ReLoC) system and method implement a session-state management architecture for cloud computing that uses loosely-coupled services and platform agnostic scalable messaging technology to propagate and save session states. Maintaining the state of applications and user sessions is difficult in large scale web-based software systems, particularly in the context of cloud computing (e.g., platform as a service (PaaS) vendors, do not explicitly support state management infrastructure, such as clustering). In a PaaS environment, a user has little or no access and control over the server platform and session management layer. The platform tiers are generally loosely coupled and service-oriented, which make traditional session-state management techniques non-usable. The ReLoC system and method provides a high level of tolerance to failures of the platform tiers without corresponding disruptions in user sessions.
