  • Patent number: 9117196
Abstract: A business networking system and method for groups of people within a variety of business types to organize themselves into specific and relevant categories in order to maximize the exchange of relevant information and further development of relevant business contacts. The method and system offer tools for registering members and sub-dividing those registered members into smaller relevant groups. The method matches members of similar backgrounds and business experiences and provides communications, messaging and meetings for relevant. The system provides tools to encourage reciprocal relevant communications, both online and in the real world, between members. All activity is tracked and grouped into a plurality of statistics that are then ranked and shared with members. The statistics are used by the TBS system as a scorecard or as punishment in the form of expulsion from the categorized group.

  • Patent number: 9106939
Abstract: Disclosed are methods that aid users, especially users temporarily staying in locations remote from home, in finding and accessing media content. A program listing tailored for the user's current location, and showing only services actually available at that location, is created and presented to the user. In some embodiments, the user interacts with the listing to access available media content items. If the user has expressed specific location-based preferences, then those preferences can be taken into account when creating the listing. If a service subscribed to by the user is not available at this remote location, then an alternate provider will be searched for, and, if found, the user's favorite shows can be added to the created program listing.

  • Patent number: 8972603
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing managed computer networks. In some situations, the techniques include managing communications for computing nodes of a managed computer network by automatically determining to separate a particular outgoing packet or other outgoing communication from a source computing node into multiple parts (e.g., multiple packets) to be independently sent using two or more alternative network paths between the sending computing node and the destination for the communication. For example, a manager module associated with the source computing node may automatically determine to encode the outgoing communication into a dynamically determined quantity of multiple parts (e.g.

  • Patent number: 8972486
Abstract: A terminal apparatus includes a communication unit, a storage unit, and a controller. The communication unit is capable of communicating with a web server and receives information of a web page from the web server. The controller displays the web page in a window displayed on a display unit, generates an image of the web page before a change each time the web page is changed to a different web page, associates the generated image with a change history of the web page to store the generated image in the storage unit, and reads the image corresponding to the change history from the storage unit based on an instruction made by a user to display the image, to display the image on the display unit.

  • Patent number: 8938525
Abstract: The invention is directed towards determining an access node (14, 16) for a terminal (18) in a network (10) having one or more access nodes capable of providing access to the terminal based on one or more access technologies. Access node is selected through determining whether at least one network parameter provided by a network node (12, 14, 16) is required as input for the access node selection for the terminal. If it is determined that the at least one network parameter is required as input, the network parameter is obtained and an access node possibly together with access type for the terminal is selected at least based on said network parameter.

  • Patent number: 8930568
Abstract: When a guest OS loads within the context of a container provided by the host OS, the guest OS uses PCI or other protocol to specify a virtual hardware device. The guest OS enumerates the virtual hardware device to establish the size for the BARs and establish its view of physical addresses for the memory locations. A server running in the context of the container receives read/write requests from the guest OS, maps the read/write requests to host OS physical address space, and posts responses to the virtual hardware device. Since the guest OS executes memory related operations using its own memory space, exits to the container code are not required to implement storage related actions by the Guest OS. This allows performance of an application executing in the context of the guest OS to approximate performance of an application executing in the context of the host OS.

  • Patent number: 8924516
Abstract: The present disclosure is related to managing delivery of items of invitational content based on a feature-based model. Specifically, a content delivery system is provided for managing a campaign using a content bundle identifying different content blocks and rules for assembling the content blocks into the items of invitational content. The feature-based model then accrues costs based on content blocks delivered, content blocks accessed, a degree of user interaction with the accessed content blocks, or any combinations thereof. The relative performance of the items can be evaluated by obtaining a ranking based at least on the number of content blocks and a performance of these content blocks. The ranking can then be used to manage future assembly and delivery of items. In some configurations, rules can be provided to specify when particular content items can be included as costs vary.

  • Patent number: 8909813
Abstract: A method for processing communication traffic includes receiving an incoming stream of compressed data conveyed by a sequence of data packets, each containing a respective portion of the compressed data. The respective portion of the compressed data contained in the first packet is stored in a buffer, having a predefined buffer size. Upon receiving a subsequent packet, at least a part of the compressed data stored in the buffer and the respective portion of the compressed data contained in the subsequent packet are decompressed, thereby providing decompressed data. A most recent part of the decompressed data that is within the buffer size is recompressed and stored in the buffer.

  • Patent number: 8898289
Abstract: Method and system for distributing a notification of an event occurring at a one entity to an affected entity. In one embodiment, entities are grouped into one or more groups so that an event occurring at one entity of the group is distributed to the other entities of the group (“affected entities”). If an event occurs at an entity managed by a local entity manager, a notification of the event can be routed to a remote entity manager that manages an affected entity. The local entity manager can use a distributed mapping to determine where to route the event notification. In one embodiment the mapping associates an entity to an entity manager.

  • Patent number: 8898296
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for generating query recommendations. One method provides selecting one or more nodes of an object model that models a resource as a hierarchy of nodes, and determining that the selected nodes exhibit one or more predefined traits that are characteristic of boilerplate content, wherein boilerplate content comprises content that is repeated in multiple resources of a particular web site or content which is not relevant to the main content of a resource. A score associated with the selected nodes is adjusted responsive to determining that the selected nodes exhibit the predefined traits, and information is provided to a query recommendation engine, the information including textual content associated with the selected nodes, and the information identifying the adjusted score associated with the selected nodes.
