Abstract: A method of creating a rifle and scope assembly, that begins with selecting and providing a rifle having a caliber and barrel length and providing a selection of rifle scopes, wherein each one is matched to a caliber and barrel length. Then, a rifle scope that matches the caliber and barrel length of the rifle is selected from the selection of rifle scopes. The rifle scope is attached to the rifle. Then, a cartridge type is selected to be used in the rifle. A range to zero the rifle scope is selected, based on caliber, barrel length and cartridge type. The final step is zeroing the rifle scope to the selected range.
Abstract: A novel three columned magazine structure with high cartridge capacity developed for automatic shotguns that are able to perform rapid fires, which enables the firearm to have more than one type of cartridge at the same time ready to be fired from the shotgun structure, and allows different type of cartridge structures to be fired in desired order.
Abstract: A firearm rear stabilizing crutch is disclosed having a shaft with a proximal end and a distal end, and an underarm firearm support on the proximal end of the shaft. The underarm firearm support has a support base with front and rear ends and a top element extending therebetween, with the top element defining a generally curved profile extending from proximate the front end to proximate the rear end. A support nose extends from the front end of the support base, with the support nose defining a recess therein for accommodating a firearm buttstock. Abstract: A rifle and rifle scope assembly, including a rifle and a rifle scope housing, attached to the rifle, the housing defining an eyepiece. An optical train is supported in the housing and includes a reticle lens. The reticle is arranged so that when a user looks through the eyepiece, the reticle lens presents a display having a set of vertical bars of different heights, wherein the height of each vertical bar corresponds to the vertical space on the reticle of a target of a known height and at a first known range. Further, a numeral adjacent to each vertical bar, provides the height in units of length, of a target that will appear as being the same height as the vertical bar, when viewed through the scope, if the target is at the known distance.
Abstract: A cartridge that generates higher than typical chamber pressures has an enhanced means of primer retention for retaining the primer in the primer recess of the casing. The means may be a lip folded onto a conical surface, a annular groove to receive deformed primer wall portion material upon detonation, a concavity in the rearward facing wall of the primer, a check valve in the flash tube to inhibit propellant gases from reaching the primer recess, or specifically configured primers with a greater length than diameter and with greater wall thicknesses.

Abstract: An example optical sight mounting system comprises an optical sight having a base that can be secured to an adapter interface of a pistol slide. The base of the optical sight is configured to that it can be rotated into position within the adapter interface of the pistol slide. In this way, the optical sight can be mounted on a pistol and used to aim. Another example optical sight mounting system comprises an optical sight having a base that can be secured to an adapter interface of an optical sight mount. The base of the optical sight is configured so that it can be rotated into position within the adapter interface of the optical sight mount. The optical sight mount is configured to releasable engage a mounting interface of a firearm (e.g., a MIL-STD-1913 rail). In this way, the optical sight can be positioned on a firearm (e.g., a rifle) and used to aim.
Abstract: A grip strap is removably attachable to a grip of a firearm using a plunger mounted in the grip and biased by a mainspring which also biases a hammer strut of the firearm.
Abstract: Rangefinding methods are described herein, and more particularly to shapes superimposed on an image that enable measurement of distances with a sighting device. A reticle for an optical sight, including but not limited to a holographic sight, which allows the user to near instantaneously engage targets from multiple ranges, is described herein.
Abstract: Apparatus for inhibiting rotation of a projectile tip relative to a longitudinal axis of the projectile. The projectile includes a tip and a jacket with a core. The tip includes a stem that protrudes into said core. The stem includes a plurality of grooves that engage the core. At least one transverse groove inhibits linear motion of the tip along a longitudinal axis of the projectile. At least one longitudinal groove extending along a portion of the length of the tip stem inhibits rotation about the longitudinal axis. In one embodiment, three longitudinal grooves have a spiral shape with the grooves equally spaced about the circumference of the tip stem. In another embodiment, two sets of longitudinal grooves spiral in opposite directions around the tip stem.
Abstract: A method of feeding rounds of linked, or un-linked, ammunition to a gun includes a motor-driven chain drive which rotates about a track. A rotatable feeder engages the ammunition to feed an ammunition round into a round extractor/retractor. A rotatable round positioner receives an ammunition round from the round extractor/retractor, and rotates it to a firing position. A main geneva wheel, mounted near the chain drive, is sequentially engaged by first and second drive rollers, secured to the chain drive, for being periodically rotated thereby. Drive pins of the main geneva wheel sequentially engage radial slots in a belt/round feed geneva wheel and a round positioning geneva wheel for timed rotation thereof to synchronize the operation of the round feeder and round positioner.
