  • Patent number: 5448678
Abstract: An electrically heated nozzle for use in injection molding which is positioned between an injection apparatus and a die casting machine in an injection molding operation. The nozzle transfers molten material such as metal under pressure from the injection apparatus to the die. The nozzle has a refractive core, with a flow passage, surrounded by an intermediate metal core which is heated by a coil of electrical resistance wire to prevent heat loss in the molten metal. A metal sleeve surrounds the coil and the intermediate core. The heating coil is attached to a control box which energizes the coil and controls the temperature.

  • Patent number: 5442517
Abstract: Very thin films of cellulose triacetate are cast from a solution containing a small amount of high boiling temperature, non-solvent which evaporates last and lifts the film from the casting surface. Stretched, oriented, crystallized films have high electrical breakdown properties. Metallized films less than about 2 .mu.m in thickness form self-healing electrodes for high energy density, pulsed power capacitors. Thicker films can be utilized as a dielectric for a capacitor.

  • Patent number: 5432671
Abstract: A device forming a touch screen of the capacitive type intended in particular to cower a visualizing screen of a visualizing display unit such as a cathode ray tube. A group of electrically conducting transparent electrodes are arranged to be insulated from each other, not exposed to the outside and are connected to an electronic circuit for detecting capacitive variation. • Patent number: 5424908
Abstract: A package-type solid electrolytic capacitor is provided which comprises a pair of capacitor elements, a pair of diodes associated with the capacitor elements, a pair of leads associated with the capacitor elements and the diodes, and a resin package enclosing the capacitor elements, the diodes and part of the leads. The leads may be exchangeably connectable to a positive and a negative electrodes of a circuit pattern. In one state of lead connection, one of the diodes passes a current only for one of the capacitor elements. In the other state of lead connection, the other diode passes a current only for the other capacitor element. Thus, the capacitor is non-polar and therefore can be mounted without paying any attention to the polarity.

  • Patent number: 5420748
Abstract: The invention discloses an upstanding surface mounting type electrolytic chip capacitor. The conventional capacitor has an asymmetrical mass distribution, and oscillations occur, with the result that an automatic surface mounting becomes difficult. The present invention provides upward projections along the edges of the cover portion of the holder, thereby minimizing the settling instability, and forming a plurality of soldering gas discharge and lead guide slots. Further, an annular groove is formed on the bottom of the cover portion and along the upper circumference of the capacitor, so that a short-circuit preventing step should be formed, and that the coupling between the capacitor and the holder should be reinforced. Accordingly, the lead drawing direction does not have to be considered, and the mass distribution of the capacitor becomes symmetrical.
