Abstract: A device for controlling a controlled device includes a remote control unit having a transmitter, a processor, a clock connected to the processor, and a control keypad. The remote control unit is removably engageable in a support, and when the remote control unit is in a first position relative to the support, manipulation of the keypad results in sending programming commands to the processor such that the processor can transmit control signals to the controlled device at user-defined times. On the other hand, when the remote control unit is not in the first position relative to the support, manipulation of the keypad causes the transmitter to send commands to the controlled device. Alternatively, when the remote control unit is in the first position relative to the support, the keypad is disabled, such that commands may be sent to the controlled device from the device only automatically at preprogrammed times.
Abstract: A lock controller for automatically unlocking and locking a lockable part such as a vehicle door uses a detector for detecting a hand approaching inside a plurality of detection areas. Such a detector is not only arranged to transmit electromagnetic waves and to receive the reflected waves from a target object of detection such as a person's hand but also provided with a plurality of wave detection circuit parts for mixing wave detection signals corresponding to said transmission waves with signals received by said reception antenna at different sampling timings and outputting the mixed signals. A plurality of judging circuit parts each correspond to different one of the wave detection circuit parts and serve to switch on a detection output based on the outputted signals from said wave detection circuit parts to indicate that said target object is approaching and at a speed within a specified range.
Abstract: A movable barrier operator (11) transmits status signals from time to time to reflect its own operational states. A corresponding wireless remote control apparatus (14) receives such status signals and used the informational content of such status signals to effect a variety of automatic and/or user-facilitated control strategies. In one embodiment, the wireless remote control apparatus can use the status signal to determine a distance (or at least an approximate distance) between the movable barrier operator and the wireless remote control apparatus. This distance information, in turn, can also be used to inform and enrich the control strategies and possibilities of the wireless remote control apparatus.

Abstract: Remote control of an operating table which can be motor-adjusted by means of a drive device is provided for. Command signals for controlling the drive device are wirelessly transmitted to the operating table from an operator control unit. A unique association between the operator control unit and an operating table is ensured before command signals are sent by emitting an infrared control signal to the operating table by the operator control unit and then confirming the reception of the control signal from the operator control unit by radio signal from the operating table.

Abstract: The present invention aims to share such a unit for controllably operating a wide variety of electronic apparatuses to be uniformly compatible with each of them. Concretely, such data pictures comprising picture data and relevant data as a single dealing unit are utilized. Data pictures are individually displayed on a display unit of the inventive operating device to enable user to specify (305) any of them. Abstract: This invention is a photosite which allows access from a cell phone to provide user-friendlier services. The photosite creates an ID (S6501) and creates a character string Str from the ID by combining numerals and alphabetical characters by using a storage unit which stores buttons 0 to 9 of the cell phone and the number of alphabetical characters assigned to the respective buttons in correspondence with each other (S6502–S6507). In this case, a character string is created such that any two consecutive characters are assigned to different keys.
Abstract: A universal remote control is provided. For each channel supported, a mode is initially established as rolling mode. For a fixed code appliance, a fixed code is received and stored, and the mode changed to fixed mode. When an activation request is received, the mode associated with that activation input is examined. If the mode is rolling mode, a sequence of rolling code activation signals is transmitted, each based on one of the plurality of rolling code transmission schemes. If the mode is fixed mode, at least one activation signal is transmitted based on a fixed code transmission scheme and including a reversal or an inverse of the stored fixed code.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a wireless terminal for checking the amount used of gauge and a gauge management system using a wireless communication network which checks the amount used of electricity, tap water, and gas by a wireless terminal. A wireless terminal established in a front of gauge, senses image of a figure at gauge, transmit data of the amount used with a wireless communication network. Abstract: A meter interface unit for use in a one way automatic meter reading system comprises first means for frequently transmitting a short burst transmission suitable for reception by a hand held or mobile receiver, and second means for transmitting narrow band data messages suitable for reception by a fixed network first tier receiving station. The receiver at the first tier receiving station has means for suppressing the short transmissions to prevent interference with the slow busts from the second transmitting means. Repeated packet collisions between the short bursts are avoided by randomly varying the time period between the short bursts.
Abstract: A controlling apparatus for programming extended code of keyboard and a method for the same. The keyboard receives an extended code processing command and judges the extended code processing command to be used for enabling a second key code or disabling a second key code of the key. The keyboard also receives key code setting parameters. The keyboard has a mode selection key to toggle the keyboard between a standard key code mode and an extended key code mode. Therefore, all keys on the keyboard can be assigned with new extended code or disabled for the new extended code to broaden the function thereof.

Abstract: A pressure pulse generator to generate pressure signals in drilling fluid for transmission to surface includes an outer housing having an inlet and an outlet for supply to the drilling assembly; a control element slidably mounted in the housing for opening and closing said inlet, the element being operative to generate a pressure pulses when it closes; a control passage extending through the element and closable by a valve element arranged to be exposed to the pressure in the passage; and an actuator assembly connected to the control element. The control element moves upon activation relative to the inlet to generate a pulse. When deactivated, it blocks the flow through the passage so that all of the fluid bypasses via the inlet.
Abstract: A fixed position remote control unit 20 as used with a movable barrier operator 11 has an externally accessible plug-in module interface 25. This interface 25 operably couples to the link 23 and 24 between the remote control unit 20 and the operator 11. So configured, a plug-in module 40 that docks and couples with this plug-in module interface 25 can receive operating (or charging) power from the movable barrier operator 11, exchange signaling with the movable barrier operator 11, or both. The ability to readily exchange signaling without invasive wiring permits a wide variety of plug-in modules 40 to be utilized.
Abstract: A lighting system that automatically turns on lights with a key used for locking the doors of a car and a house. The system includes the key and a lighting device. The key generates and transmits a transmission signal containing verification subject information. A light control unit connected to the lighting device receives the transmission signal from the key and verifies the key with an ID code. The light control unit activates the lighting device.
