A second embodiment provides a dry pump and motor installed at the lower end of the cylinder below the surrounding casing and hydraulic reservoir. Abstract: An electromagnetic safety trigger 46 includes a link 72 kinematically connected to a safety 70A, 70B of an elevator system mass, such as an elevator car or counterweight. An electromagnet 76 mounted on a linear actuator 74 is magnetically coupled to the link 72, and a spring 78 is connected between the link 72 and the elevator mass. The electromagnet 76 can be triggered to release the link 72, which allows the spring 78 to move the link 72 to engage the safety 70A, 70B.

Abstract: A tensioner may be part of a power system to tension an endless power transmitting element. The tensioner includes an arm having an arm arbor with a slot therethrough that is rotatable about a first axis, a bushing having a sleeve that includes a cut-out and a removable sleeve-segment that has a protrusion thereon, the sleeve-segment being receivable in the cut-out with the protrusion in the slot, and a spring coupled to the arm for rotation of the arm about the first axis into tensioning engagement with a power transmitting element. The spring is positioned where it can radially expand into contact with the protrusion of the bushing, at least the protrusion on the sleeve-segment, as the arm is rotated in a direction opposite the direction of tensioning engagement such that the bushing is urged radially outward relative to the arm arbor to provide frictional damping.

Abstract: An oil pan leak guard that is attachable to the undersurface of an oil pan. The leak guard has a wire framework, an oil absorbent material supported by the wire framework, and a washer integrated with said wire framework. The washer provides a leak guard opening that receives the oil plug of the oil pan. The washer is clamped against the oil pan when the oil plug is received through the leak guard opening, screwed into the oil plan opening, and tightened.

Abstract: A gate below an elevator car which prevents access to an elevator hoistway. The gate slidably mounts behind a toe guard and retracts upwardly if the bottom of the gate encounters a person, object or the floor of the elevator pit during downward travel of the elevator. The gate latches when fully retracted so that it may be out of the way during maintenance. A microswitch is wired into the emergency stop circuit that engages when the gate is latched. A trip wire defining the bottom edge of the gate is also wired into the emergency stop circuit, so that the elevator will stop its downward travel if it encounters an obstruction. Rubber bumpers on the bottom edge of the gate cushion impact to people or objects who happen to be below the elevator car and are struck by the gate during downward elevator movement.

Abstract: A belt-drive CVT includes a pair of pulleys, each of which has a stationary pulley and a movable pulley that moves toward or away from the stationary pulley in an axial direction of the pulley, a belt that is wound around the pair of pulleys and a rotation state detecting device for detecting rotation of the pulley. The rotation state detecting device has a tone wheel that rotates integrally with the pulley and a sensor that faces the tone wheel. The tone wheel has a cylinder portion that extends along a moving direction of the movable pulley. The cylinder portion is provided with a plurality of detection portions which are arranged at regular intervals in a circumferential direction throughout an entire circumference of the cylinder portion and which extend along the moving direction of the movable pulley.
Abstract: A chain has links formed by pairs of internal and external plates respectively connected by pins and inserts fitted onto the pins and projecting through the internal plates. Rollers are fitted onto the inserts between the internal plates and a lubricated interface is identified between each roller and the respective insert. The roller is provided, at each end, with a bevel or cavity tilted inwards the roller to identify a seat between the internal plate and the external surface of the respective insert, into the seat the sealing gasket being accommodated. A further sealing gasket is advantageously arranged between the plates to seal an interface between the pin and insert.
