Abstract: An inflatable body includes an elongate chamber delimited by two substantially parallel main walls and defining at least a portion of a base suitable for holding a person laid down thereon, the chamber being extended, integrally, on both sides of the base, beyond a transition area where the main walls are close to each other, by two raised lateral strips extending along at least the base portion, so as to laterally flank the person, wherein the main walls are braced by a plurality of drop stitch links, and at the location of the transition area, the inflatable body has seams bringing the main walls together, thereby causing a fold between the base and each of the raised lateral strips, with the seams being covered by a sealed lining wall.

Abstract: A spring wire support for foundations and innerspring mattresses, and a variable spring surface deck for a foundation and variable spring surface for a mattress. The spring wire support comprises an elongated spring element enveloped in a pliant carrier, with the carrier including an attachment margin. The variable spring surface deck for a foundation comprises a plurality of the spring wire supports secured as desired to an upper surface of a foundation. The variable spring surface for a mattress comprises a plurality of the spring wire supports located between top and adjacent convolutions of rows or columns of springs of the mattress.

Abstract: An infant bed system having a base, a mattress with a top surface having a half-pipe indentation, the mattress is shaped and sized to be snugly placed atop the base, legs that extend downwardly from the base, and raised side walls that extend upwardly from the side wall of the base. A vibrating component in the base is adapted to provide vibrations to the mattress. A speaker produces womb sounds or heartbeat sounds. A control panel on the base allows for turning on and off of the system.

Abstract: A base for supporting a C-shaped pillow is disclosed. The pillow support includes a C-shaped body and a plurality of partition boards. The C-shaped body has an opening, a central hollow, a top plate and a bottom plate. The partition boards are vertically connected between the top plate and the bottom plate to form a plurality of compartments for receiving sachets.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a device that is comprised of a flexible material and a roll mechanism associated with the flexible material. A bistable resilient member maintains the flexible material flat due to a tension force within the body of the bistable resilient member in a first stable state, and maintains the flexible material to a rolled-up, bundled closed position after the tension force within the body of the bistable resilient member is fully released (the second stable state). Further, the bistable resilient member compels the flexible material to a self-roll-up motion (during a transition state) while a tension force within the body of the bistable resilient member is released.

Abstract: An easy-installable bracket for retaining a bed mattress is provided. The bracket is adapted to be disposed on a bed frame having a head portion and a feet portion. The bracket includes two seats and a bracket member. Each of the seats has a bottom plate for fixed at the feet portion of the bed frame, and an arcuate portion extended from the bottom plate. Two passages are respectively defined between the arcuate portions of the seats and the feet portion. The bracket member has a vertical portion, two front-extending sections respectively extended from two bottom ends of the vertical portion toward the head portion of the bed frame, and two parallel rear-extending sections respectively extended from distal ends of the front extending sections toward the feet portion. The rear-extending sections are slidably received in the passages respectively.

Abstract: In one embodiment, a support pillow comprises a pillow body having a medial region and two opposing arms that form a well region, a first side and a second side. The pillow body further includes an outer periphery and an inner periphery outlining the well region. The pillow body further comprises a fill material and a cover enveloping the fill material. The cover comprises a main section that extends about the first and second sides and the outer periphery, and a center panel coupled to the main section so as to be located along the inner periphery. Also, the center panel is constructed of a woven fabric having two grain directions that are generally perpendicular to each other and a bias. The woven fabric is generally non-stretchable in at least one of the grain directions, and the center panel is coupled to the main section so as to be substantially on the bias.

Abstract: A disposable gel pad for cushioning the plate of an operating table's patient support apparatus is a block of gel with one face of the block adapted to locate the pad on the plate. Usually the pad will be enclosed in a film envelope. A pocket in the envelope allows the pad to engage the plate. Stick on patches which provide a pocket and sacroiliac pads axe variants. Sacroiliac pads can be cast with a soft gel front for patient contact joined to a hard gel rear for screw or bayonet fixing to the patient support apparatus.

The components include a first layer, a fire-resistant layer affixed to the first layer or an optional additional layer, and a fire-resistant sock. The first layer, the optional additional layer, and fire-resistant layer are disposed within the fire-resistant sock.

Abstract: The tactical stretcher and convertible first aid table with detachable IV pole includes a small and lightweight stretcher that is manually lifted with two sets of handles located at distal ends of the stretcher. The stretcher includes a plurality of straps to secure and immobilize a patient lying on the top surface of the stretcher. Two pairs of foldable legs rotate downwardly from a bottom surface to convert the stretcher to a first aid table. The foldable legs are limited to 90 degrees range of rotational movement from a horizontal position to a vertical position. An IV holder accessory is optionally provided, and secures itself to one of the handles. The IV holder includes a telescoping construction in order to adjust the elevation of an IV bag with respect to the stretcher.

Abstract: A system of belt and buckle components enable a handicapped person to achieve self-transfer between a bed and contiguous wheelchair. One extremity of the belt is secured to the wheelchair, and the other extremity of the belt is anchored to a panel inserted beneath the bed at a site transversely opposite the wheelchair.

Abstract: A bed rail having a guard frame that prevents a child from rolling off a bed and a pair of legs that extend between the mattress and box spring. The guard frame swings between up and down positions and is pivotally connected to the legs via a first junction. A second junction locks the guard frame to the legs. The second junction includes a rotatable seat that engages a pin extending from the guard frame. The bed rail further includes a strap that engages a proximal end of a leg, a distal end of the leg, and an anchor, which engages the side of the bed opposite of the bed rail.

Abstract: The invention provides a corrugated mattress and method for making. The mattress comprises an corrugated foam core, a middle cushioning layer and outer cover layer. The corrugated foam core includes an upper substrate, a lower substrate and a fluted middle substrate the flutes fixed to the upper and lower substrates providing three-dimensional support for the user. The middle cushioning layer may comprise a second corrugated foam product, a cotton batting layer, densified polyester or foam including polyurethane, polyester, polypropylene or polylactic acid and the like. The outer cover layer may comprise cotton or laminated foam comprising, polyurethane, polyethylene, polyester, polypropylene, polylactic acid and the like, the laminate comprising a film independently selected from polyurethane, polyethylene, polyester, polypropylene or polylactic acid and the like. In various embodiments the polymers are food grade polymers such that the mattress is non-toxic.

Abstract: A patient support system includes independently adjustable end columns supporting a centrally hinged, jointed or breaking patient support structure. At least one column includes a powered rotation assembly. The patient support includes at least two sections. A coordinated drive system provides for both upwardly and downwardly breaking or jointed orientations of the two sections in various inclined and tilted positions. Cable, cantilevered and pull-rod systems are included.

Abstract: An inflatable body contour support cushion comprises a bladder comprising a flexible material. Said bladder is configured to retain a quantity of material to maintain said bladder in a flaccid state in which the material flows freely within said bladder. Said bladder is further configured to support a body contour by filling the space between the body contour and a surface against which the body contour is resting. A valve mechanism is configured to enable addition and removal of the material from said bladder in which a user can adjust a level of the support.

Abstract: This invented multiple-phase dynamic cushion comprises a frame, at least a driving source, at least a transmission assembly, and clusters of plural strips interleaved in parallel. Taking a two-phase embodiment as an example, the two-phase strips interleave with each other, in parallel, to form the cushion's surface and alternate their tensions in turn; when one phase's strips periodically tighten to support the user's body, the other phase's strips will loosen, allowing the user's body covered by the loosened strips to take a rest, averting a pressure-ulcer risk. The driving source is energized by an altering energy, making the two strip groups alternate in loosening and tightening states periodically in turn. This invention can be converted into a portable dynamic chair when the four holes on the bottom of its four corners are inserted with legs; it can also be converted into a dynamic support for a lying human body.

Abstract: An aerated bumper and liner system for a baby crib provides increased airflow into and out of the baby crib while creating a soft pad to guard the baby against injury. The bumper and liner system includes pads with apertures that allow for added air circulation. Each pad may further include ties for attaching the pad to the bars of the crib. Support stays are included in the liner pads to help ensure that the liner pad do not sag once put in place in the crib.

Abstract: An ambulance cot is disclosed and the ambulance cot has, if desired, a wheel supported base and a litter raisable and lowerable by a powered elevating mechanism oriented between the base and the litter. The ambulance cot also has wireless communication capability to facilitate communication between the ambulance cot and a loading system on an ambulance as well as facilitating wireless troubleshooting via a handheld wireless unit. The ambulance cot also has a longitudinally extendable head section. The ambulance cot also has several accessories, such as an accessory hook mounted to the underside of the fowler, and a collapsible pouch accessory fastened to the retractable head section and the litter frame as well as a pinch safety feature.
