  • Patent number: 7059812
Abstract: A portable hand-held multiple bit drill imparts a set of linearly aligned work areas of a work piece, which work areas are respectively and simultaneously drilled by the respective drill bits. A rotary power source communicates with a hand-held body holding a plurality of chucks. Each pair of adjacent chucks having a uniform pre-set spacing apart from each other. The drill chucks holding the drill bits are rotated by respective linearly aligned drive gears, which are rigidly attached to respective shafts driving each respective chuck of the plurality of chucks. The drive gears are rotated by a centrally located central gear, which is attached to a central drive shaft emerging from the hand held housing. The central gear is driven by the power source and each drive gear is a meshed idler gear, which reverses direction, such that all the drive gears are rotated in a same, pre-determined direction.

  • Patent number: 7052217
Abstract: The invention relates to a multiple cutting edge rotary tool having a radial individual adjustment of each cutting edge or having a central adjustment for all cutting edges together. The multiple cutting edge rotary tool used for machining has a number of holders that have, in the front part, cavities for accommodating cutting plates and have, in the area between their ends, a hole for passing through a fixing device with which each holder can be fixed to a support. The holder, on its portion that supports the cutting plate, can be elastically deflected in relation to a support by means of an adjusting device. In addition, the holder is provided with an opening and forms a parallel spiral spring arrangement whereby the cutting plate, during its adjustment, is essentially subjected to a parallel displacement with regard to the cutting edge.

  • Patent number: 7048477
Abstract: A depth stop for use with a drill bit comprises a tubular body having an opening therethrough. Used with a drill bit whose bit portion includes a cutting end, and a shank portion, the depth stop is frictionally positionable on the bit portion at a specified point from the cutting end, thereby indicating a specified depth. Depth stops are manufactured in different colors, each color corresponding to a specified range of drill bits that the depth stops will fit. The depth stops, manufactured from a sterilizable material, are intended for single use. The depth stop can be used with a drill bit and drill extender, where one or more depth stops provide multiple visual points of reference for the operator.
