  • Patent number: 11874086
Abstract: A firearm accessory mounting system includes a mount for attachment to a firearm mounting structure such as a handguard. The firearm mounting structure includes a slot. The mount includes projections around an opening for a fastener. The projections may, for example, be a slotted recoil lug. The opening includes first and second regions having different slopes. The fastener has a head which, during tightening, initially engages the second region to deform the projections radially outward against an end of the slot in the firearm mounting structure. Continued tightening of the fastener causes the head to engage the first region of the opening to apply an axial clamping force on the mount against the firearm mounting structure. This results in securing forces both transverse and parallel to the rotational axis of the fastener.

  • Patent number: 11867473
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and apparatus for a bipod having pivot and cant functionality built into a unified cant/pivot assembly, housing, and pivot block. Rotation of a locking knob under the housing can gradually increase or decrease friction of the cant and pivoting degrees of freedom. Sufficient loosening of the locking knob can allow a pivot block to be lifted from the housing and rotated 180°, and then retightened to lock in a given pivot position. Before this 180 rotation of the pivot block, the pivot block and hence the firearm is free to pivot up to 10°, or up to 20°, or up to 30°.

  • Patent number: 11852433
Abstract: A temperature compensator for a recoil system and methods of use therein are disclosed. The temperature compensator can be used to regulate compressible fluid flow in a recoil system for an artillery weapon, including limiting a total volume of compressible fluid used to drive recoiling components of the system. This allows the recoil parts be to driven with consistency, notwithstanding the volumetric expansion of the compressible fluid due to temperature changes. In certain embodiments, the temperature compensator can include a tube having opposing first and second ends, and an elongated through portion extending therebetween. A flange can extend radially from the first end of the tube and be configured for sliding engagement within a recuperator cylinder of the soft recoil system. A one-way valve can be coupled to the flange at the first end and configured to restrict fluid entry to the elongated through portion via the first end.
