Abstract: Content streaming systems, such as systems that use HTTP compliant requests to obtain media segments for presentation of the content on a device. These content streaming systems can be optimized to reduce latency to a low level so that live events can be streamed to receiving devices in such a manner so that the time between an action in the live event and the presentation of the action on a receiving device that receives the streamed content is less than about 10 seconds. A client device can use rendition reports to tune-in to a new rendition (at a first bit rate) after presenting a prior rendition (of a second bit rate) when switching between the different bit rates; also, for example, a client device can use playlist annotations that indicate independent frames to avoid downloading depending frame media segments when switching between different renditions.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described for monitoring screen activity of a computing device and performing designated system actions based on the monitored activity. In some implementations, activity data indicating usage of a computing device by a user within a property over a particular time period is obtained. Sensor data collected by a monitoring system that monitors the property over the particular time period is then obtained. An activity monitoring rule that specifies (i) one or more conditions associated with usage of the computing device by the user, and (ii) an action to perform in response to satisfaction of the one or more conditions is identified. A determination that the activity data and the sensor data satisfy the one or more conditions specified by the activity monitoring rule is made. The action specified by the activity monitoring rule is then performed in response to the determination.

Abstract: A file-related task management device includes: a memory; and a processor electrically connected to the memory, wherein the processor creates a file chat room that is associated with a file in a folder shared by one or more folder sharers and is accessible through the file, receives, from a user terminal of the one or more folder sharers, an update log for an update to the file made by the user terminal, and displays a message thread in the file chat room, the message thread including a log message for the update, wherein chat messages related to the file between the one or more folder sharers and the log message are displayed together in the file chat room.

Abstract: Communication servers hosting interactions between requesting devices and resources may require load sheading or maintenance and, as a result, be placed in Deny New Service (DNS) mode, whereby a subsequent session request is refused while existing sessions continue until concluded. However, an interaction comprising an existing session may be supplemented by a subsequent session, often utilizing a different application layer implementation. By providing the requesting device with an interaction identifier, a subsequent session made after the server has been placed in DNS mode, may be accepted and associated with the same resource associated with the existing session.

The method further includes sending the packet to both the first host node and the second host node.

The method comprises receiving a message from a first station; determining whether the message requires clearance from a second station; displaying clearance intended message determined to require clearance from the second station to a consumer of the message; automatically translating the clearance intended message to a format understood by the second station; and routing the translated message to the second station upon selection of the clearance intended message by the consumer of the message.

Abstract: This disclosure describes a computing system that automatically detects users in visual proximity and adds the users to a private collaboration space enabling the users to share digital content. In one example, the computing system includes a video processing engine configured to detect, from first image data representative of a first physical environment that includes a second user, the second user, wherein the first image data is captured by an image capture system of a head-mounted display (HMD) worn by a first user. Abstract: A system and related method exchange messages under the control of a messaging client. The method comprises splitting a content of a source message into a plurality of fragments defined by corresponding portions of its content associated with different recipients of the message. A plurality of transport messages are generated, each comprising one or more of the fragments associated with the recipients. The transport messages are submitted to a messaging server for causing it to provide the transport messages to corresponding further messaging clients of the recipients for their aggregation. A computer program and a computer program product for performing the method are also provided.

Abstract: A method for covertly acquiring data. Information about an activity associated with a first hand-held device is monitored by initiating covert application software in a first configuration in which a log-in must first be input to the first device. When running the software in the first configuration, no image which overtly exhibits a self-evident association with the software can be viewed on the display to identify the software or indicate that the software is running on the client. Prior to initiating monitoring with the software, a feature having no self-evident association with the covert application software can be accessed on a touch screen display of the device to initiate the software.

In some embodiments, the medium includes instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to receive, at a node of a cluster on an edge network, an indication that the cluster received a configuration update, compare a first parameter of a configuration state of the node to a second parameter of the configuration update, determine if the first parameter matches the second parameter, in response to determining that the first parameter matches the second parameter, apply the configuration update, and collect data in accordance with the configuration update.

Abstract: Methods and systems for secure multi-party generation of random bits are disclosed. These random bits can be generated securely, even if some parties (i.e., less than a corruption threshold) are dishonest or malicious. Methods and systems can use secure environments in order to securely generate and store cryptographic keys. Using broadcast protocols such as Dolev-Strong, a generator computer can distribute a public protocol instance key to other participant computers. Each participant computer can generate a random bit and encrypted the random bit with the public protocol instance key, and broadcast its encrypted random bit to the other participant computers. Once each participant computer has received the encrypted random bits from all other participant computers, the private protocol instance key can be released to the participant computers, enabling the participant computers to decrypt the encrypted random bits, and calculate an output random bit based on the encrypted random bits.
