  • Patent number: 9510249
Abstract: A wireless communication system allows a handover operation to a base station communicating through a plurality of frequency bands. The mobile terminal includes a communication unit adapted to perform communication with any of the base stations through a plurality of frequency bands. The communication unit of the base station notifies, when communication through a plurality of frequency bands is possible, a mobile terminal about information directed to identifying a main frequency band from relevant frequency bands in a manner allowing discrimination from one or more frequency bands other than the main frequency band. The communication unit of the mobile terminal determines that, upon receiving information directed to identifying a main frequency band from the second base station during having communication connection with the first base station, that the frequency band identified by the relevant information is a subject of handover towards the second base station.

  • Patent number: 9509635
Abstract: An apparatus and method for allowing a plurality of playback devices to stream content of a master device simultaneously is provided. When the master device selects one of the playback devices as a reference device and multicasts a synchronization packet to the playback devices, the playback devices determine a synchronization time by comparing their own synchronization packet reception time with a synchronization packet reception time of the reference device. When the master device streams content, into which a time stamp is inserted based on the time of the reference device, the playback devices play the content based on the determined synchronization time. Therefore, even when the playback devices have different network latencies from the master device, the playback devices may accurately perform synchronized content playback.

  • Patent number: 9497101
Abstract: System and method for capturing and enabling analysis of one or more test data packets from a radio frequency (RF) data packet signal transmitter device under test (DUT). Recently captured data packets from a received RF data packet signal are retained for analysis following confirmation that they contain potentially valid test data packets. Such confirmation is achieved by confirming that a data pattern defined by currently captured data packets differs from a data pattern defined by subsequently received data packets. Following such confirmation, a trigger signal initiates access and/or analysis of the captured data packets.

  • Patent number: 9496940
Abstract: The invention relates to methods for determining the interference variability of a precoding matrix set, and the use of same for purposes of scheduling and precoding matrix set selection. The precoding matrix set used by an interferer base station is evaluated by the mobile terminal which experiences the intercell interference from the interferer base station. The mobile terminal is informed about the precoding matrices of the precoding matrix set used by the base station. The mobile terminal measures the radio channel to the interferer cell, and then estimates based on the measured radio channel and with the knowledge on the particular precoding matrices of the precoding matrix set, the interference variability of the precoding matrix set. The interference variability may be reported to the serving base station of the mobile terminal, and thus considered for scheduling decisions by the serving base station referring the mobile terminal.

  • Patent number: 9467953
Abstract: Systems and methods for controlling the transmit power and the receive sensitivity of an access point for achieving symmetric link balancing is described. When an access point operates with symmetric link performance, the access point does not inefficiently use available bandwidth for transmitting or re-transmitting to a client station that cannot communicate with the access point. Moreover, the access point does not back off transmissions due to activity of neighboring basic service sets when not needed. The receive sensitivity can be controlled using a hardware attenuator or software commands that adjust a programmable gain in a wireless local area network chipset used by the access point, or it can be controlled using adjustable levels in the software for processing or responding to packets.

  • Patent number: 9462489
Abstract: Various embodiments provide methods implemented in a mobile communication device (e.g., a multi-RAT communication device) for maintaining at least one separate RGS value for each of a plurality of RATs operating on the mobile communication device. Specifically, a device processor on the mobile communication device (e.g., a crystal oscillator manager) may maintain a separate, up-to-date RGS value for each of the plurality of RATs and may associate each of the plurality of RATs with their respective RGS values. By keeping track of the plurality of RATs' respective RGS values, the device processor may ensure that an appropriate RGS value is used to facilitate each RAT's individual operations, such as acquisition/re-acquisition operations, sleep scheduling calculations, and handover/inter-RAT measurement operations. As a result, various embodiments may improve the performance of each RAT and the overall performance of the mobile communication device.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the field of communications. Disclosed are a method and a device for feedback information transmission based on an enhanced PHICH. The method comprises transmitting ACK/NACK feedback information to a terminal through E-PHICH sources configured in a PDSCH area; therefore, on one hand, the problem that the PHICH cannot be transmitted in some scenarios, such as an ABS sub-frame of eICIC and a subsequent possibly-defined extended carrier, is solved; and on the other hand, the signaling overhead can be saved, so that the utilization rate of resources is improved, for example, the scheduling of retransmission of a PUSCH is prevented from being carried out by a system though a DCI format 0, therefore, the effects of improving the capacity of the PHICH and solving the problem of legacy PHICH resource contention are achieved.
