Abstract: Techniques to provide access to repository content, via a file sharing service, are disclosed. In various embodiments, a revised content associated with a repository content object, reflecting a modification made to the repository content in the context of a file sharing service to which the repository content object was published in connection with a synchronized share of the repository object, is received. It is determined whether the revised content is to be stored in the repository and, if so, the revised content is stored in the repository.

Abstract: Embodiments provide a viewer/editor for schema-less data, such as a NoSQL database. The data structures are displayed so that each entity type in the data uses a different color and variable column widths. This allows the user to identify relationships between entities. For a selected entity, only the properties applicable to that entity are displayed by the viewer/editor. The column width for each property is optimized to reduce confusion and to allow the user to focus on the selected data.

Abstract: Techniques for providing data preview before recalling large data files are disclosed. In one aspect, a data file is made accessible while being offline by converting the data file from a native format to a preview format, storing the data file in the preview format in a primary storage that is locally available and moving, after the conversion to the preview format, the data file in the native format to a secondary storage. When a viewing request is received for the data file, the data file in the preview format is displayed to fulfill the viewing request.

Abstract: Systems and methods for backing up and restoring virtual machines in a cluster environment. An instrumentation interface enables configuration data to be stored with save sets during backup and enables the configuration of the destination to be adjusted based on the stored configuration during a restore.

Abstract: An example method comprises receiving historical information of episodes, constructing event sets from the historical information, categorizing each event with general labels and synthetic labels, learning an event metric on the events by using the general and synthetic labels to perform dimensionality reduction to associate a vector with each event and to determine an angle between every two vectors, determining an event set metric using distances between each pair of event sets, deriving a sequence metric on the episodes, the sequence metric obtaining a preferred match between two episodes, deriving a subsequence metric on the episodes, the subsequence metric is a function of the event set metric on subsequences of each episode, grouping episodes into subgroups based on distances, for at least one subgroup, generating a consensus sequence by finding a preferred sequence of events, and the episodes of the subgroup, and generating a report indicating the consensus sequence.

Abstract: The present teaching relates to searching encrypted data. In one example, a search request is received for encrypted documents. An encrypted query is generated based on the search request. The encrypted query is sent to a server that stores a first encrypted index and a second encrypted index. The first encrypted index maps encrypted keywords to full blocks each of which has a same size and is fully filled with encrypted document identities (IDs). The second encrypted index maps encrypted keywords to partial blocks each of which has the same size and is partially filled with encrypted document IDs. Based on the encrypted query, one or more encrypted document IDs are determined by searching against both the first encrypted index and the second encrypted index. A search result is generated based on the one or more encrypted document IDs. The search result is provided in response to the search request.

Abstract: This document describes, among other things, systems and methods for generating advertising campaigns or listings utilizing catalog information. A method comprises receiving, by an online publication system, a product catalog; accessing, by the online publication system, a merchant profile; and using the product catalog and the merchant profile to develop advertising data, wherein the advertising data includes at least one of an advertising campaign, a marketplace listing, or a store listing.

Abstract: An approach is provided for monitoring disk utilization at an object level. At a first time a first size of an object (i.e., integrated file system or library) in a System i computing platform is determined. At a second time a second size of the object is determined. A difference between the first and second sizes is determined. The difference is determined to be greater than a threshold. Based on the difference exceeding the threshold, an alert is sent indicating growth at the object level rather than at an auxiliary storage pool level. Sizes of System i libraries are monitored at multiple dates and stored in a repository. Sizes of the libraries at user-entered start and end dates are retrieved from the repository. Differences between the sizes of the libraries at the start and end dates are determined and presented.

Abstract: A random number generation process generated uncorrelated random numbers from identical random number sequences on parallel processing database segments of an MPP database without communications between the segments by establishing a different starting position in the sequence on each segment using an identifier that is unique to each segment, query slice information and the number of segments. A master node dispatches a seed value to initialize the random number sequence generation on all segments, and dispatches the query slice information and information as to the number of segments, during a normal query plan dispatch process.

Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems generate a first candidate list of users that meet a first set one or more characteristics and a second candidate list of users that meet a second set one or more characteristics. When a user appears in both of the first and second candidate lists, the user is selected to receive only the first survey or only the second survey based upon a first priority value for the first survey and a second priority value for the second survey.

Abstract: Systems and methods for data logs management in a multi-client architecture are described. According to the present subject matter, the system(s) implement the described method(s) for efficient data logs management. The method includes identifying purging parameters associated with each entity of the plurality of entities, where the purging parameters signify a mechanism of purging data logs stored in partition corresponding the entity, and where the purging parameters comprises at least criticality point associated with data logs to relinquish storage space. Further, the method includes purging of data logs stored in the partition of the entity based on the purging parameters, wherein the purging relinquishes the storage space.

Abstract: A system and method obtain a set of data and identify successive subsets of data within the set of data. A boundary identifying hash is calculated on a subset of data and compared with a boundary indicating value. If the calculated boundary identifying hash matches the boundary indicating value, a natural boundary is identified in the set of data.

Abstract: A method, system and computer program product for checking documents using colloquialisms. Colloquialisms used in messages by users in a social network are tracked. The relationships (e.g., co-worker) between the senders and recipients of these messages are identified. A social graph is then generated to depict the relations between the users in the social network based on these identified relationships. Furthermore, usage patterns of colloquialisms (e.g., a particular colloquialism is used only with close friends as opposed to co-workers) are formulated. A rule set is generated using the social graph and formulated usage patterns. By using the rule set to check documents, documents may be more accurately checked for spelling and/or grammatical errors by taking into consideration the appropriate usage of colloquialisms based on the context (e.g., communicating with a friend). Furthermore, alternative words or phrases may be appropriately recommended based on the context using such a rule set.

Abstract: Disclosed are a method, system, program and data structure for implementing a records retention policy by storing selected files for designated lengths of time and then deleting them only when that time has passed. Embodiments of the invention perform this function in an efficient database-free manner. Embodiments of the invention can perform this function by utilizing existing storage directory tree functionality provided by any computer operating system organized under a retention directory coupled with a mechanism for preventing unauthorized deletions of files designated for retention. Expiration of retained files may be managed through directory structure using directory names corresponding to expiration dates determined from identified retention periods for retained files. Files may be further protected from erasure by a kernel mode process which prevents erasure of any files contained in the retention directory.

Abstract: A first query is detected. The first query is for a storage device, and pulls a result set from the storage device using a set of predicates. The first query satisfies a size criterion. A new set of predicates of the result set is identified. The new set of predicates does not include any predicates of the original set of predicates. A second query which is the same as the first query is detected. The new set of predicates is used to determine the result set.

Abstract: In an approach to determining an access method for a partition in a partition table, a computer receives a query and determines if there is a partition table utilized by the query. When there is a partition table utilized by the query, then the computer determines that a partition in the partition table meets the plurality of conditions of the query. The computer collects a plurality of partition level statistics for the partition that meets the plurality of conditions of the query. Additionally, the computer determines, based, at least in part, on the plurality of partition level statistics, a cost for one or more access methods for the partition that meets the plurality of conditions of the query. Furthermore, the computer determines, based, at least in part, on the cost for each access method, an access method for the partition that meets the plurality of conditions of the query.

Abstract: The Messaging Search and Management Apparatuses, Methods and Systems (“MSM”) transforms message, ranking request inputs via MSM components into work graphs, ML structure input data, ML structure, ranking response outputs. A work graph generation request that includes group level access control data may be obtained. A set of metadata access control carrying messages, a set of users, a set of channels, and a set of topics with access control data corresponding to the group level access control data may be determined. A user priority score for each of the other users, a channel priority score for each of the channels, and a topic priority score for each of the topics, from the perspective of each user, may be calculated. A work graph data structure may be generated that includes, for each user, data regarding the calculated user priority scores, channel priority scores, and topic priority scores.

Abstract: In response to a track playing on a broadcast radio station, the corresponding artist name is used as a key to access a database of artist messages, news and events information associated with that artist, that may be automatically distributed and geo-targeted while the track is playing. Distribution of the supplemental artist-related content extends to the radio broadcast—via RDS and HD, to the Internet, social media and various mobile devices. The supplement content may comprise messages pre-programmed by the artist, agents, or music labels. The supplemental content may be geo-targeted to include local tour dates, media appearances, related news, album releases and other data tied to the artist's song that is playing on the radio or on a streaming application. Further, the system may feed messages directly from the artist's existing social platforms, to provide further engagement of listeners while the track is playing.

Abstract: According to embodiments described herein, a backup server maintains backup data for a set of data, which includes data for a first block and a second block. Backup data for the first and second block include backup data for a plurality of versions of the first and second block. A distinct watermark is stored for each version of the first block and each version of the second block. In response to a request to perform a restoration operation on the set of data, a particular version of the first block and a particular version of the second block are selected to use in the restoration operation by comparing a restoration target with the watermarks of the version of the first block and second block. The selected version of the first block has a different watermark than the selected version of the second block.
