  • Patent number: 9667973
Abstract: A first vector predictor candidate list generating unit generates a first motion vector predictor candidate list from motion vectors of encoded neighboring blocks to blocks to be encoded. A second vector predictor candidate list generating unit generates a second motion vector predictor candidate list from motion vectors of blocks at the same positions as the blocks to be encoded in an encoded image and neighboring blocks to the blocks at the same positions. A combination determining unit determines whether to generate a third vector predictor candidate list combining the first and second vector predictor candidate lists by comparison of a block size of the blocks to be encoded and a threshold size. A vector predictor candidate list deciding unit generates the third vector predictor candidate list from the first vector predictor candidate list.

  • Patent number: 9501692
Abstract: According to one aspect of the teachings presented herein, a projective volume monitoring apparatus is configured to detect objects intruding into a monitoring zone. The projective volume monitoring apparatus is configured to detect the intrusion of objects of a minimum object size relative to a protection boundary, based on an advantageous processing technique that represents range pixels obtained from stereo correlation processing in spherical coordinates and maps those range pixels to a two-dimensional histogram that is defined over the projective coordinate space associated with capturing the stereo images used in correlation processing. The histogram quantizes the horizontal and vertical solid angle ranges of the projective coordinate space into a grid of cells. The apparatus flags range pixels that are within the protection boundary and accumulates them into corresponding cells of the histogram, and then performs clustering on the histogram cells to detect object intrusions.

  • Patent number: 9456209
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention multiplex elementary streams without timing information coded to create a transport stream. In some embodiments, ā€˜nā€™ number of access units are constructed and pushed into a list one by one. Each access unit is capable of looking ahead to obtain information on timing for the next access unit. A header is constructed by calculating timing information from the topmost access unit of the list. Said header is written in the transport stream and the remaining bytes of the transport stream are filled with data from the said elementary stream. Thus the transport stream is constructed.

  • Patent number: 9392304
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method includes encoding a media file using a variable bitrate encoding algorithm based on a plurality of bitrate ranges to generate a set of encoded segments. For each bitrate range, an encoded segment for each segment of the media file is determined from the set of encoded segments based on a quality level of the encoded segment and each bitrate range. The method then identifies a playlist for each bitrate range including the encoded segment for each segment of the media file that was determined for each bitrate range. At least one playlist includes an encoded segment that was generated based on another bitrate range using the variable bitrate encoding algorithm.
