  • Patent number: 11757817
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs stored on a computer-readable storage medium, for peer-to-peer location-based messaging. In some implementations, a mobile device selectively displays displayable messages associated with beacons corresponding to specific locations that the mobile device visits. The mobile device can extract identifiers from wireless messages from beacons and determine whether to display a message corresponding to a beacon based on filter parameters of a user and data indicating characteristics of a property where a beacon is located. The displayable messages corresponding to beacons can be messages users who associated with the beacons have previously designated for presentation upon detection of the beacons. The mobile device can display the displayable message for a beacon while the mobile device is a detection range to receive the wireless message from the beacon.

  • Patent number: 11741490
Abstract: A system can determine that a mobile device, located at a physical place of business transmits a first electronic communication for redemption of an electronic offer at the physical place of business. The system can further detect a second electronic communication transmitted from the mobile device, which indicates a first identifier. The first identifier can be associated with a verifier of the electronic offer (e.g., a staff member) at the physical place of business. The system can further determine, based on analysis of the first identifier, a second identifier (e.g., contact data, a telephone number, etc.), that corresponds to the verifier, without providing the second identifier to the mobile device. The system can further electronically transmit, utilizing the second identifier, a third electronic communication that indicates information about the redemption of the electronic offer.

  • Patent number: 11568987
Abstract: This disclosure describes a solution to enable more useful and responsive methods for a person's wishes for resuscitation actions to be canceled or discontinued in the event of a medical event. In this solution, a person can record their do not resuscitate (DNR) wishes with more specificity. For instance, they can specify conditions for treatment or non-treatment in the event of a medical emergency that would otherwise call for live-saving procedures or the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) device. Conditional DNR data can be recorded in an electronic device (e.g., emergency pendant or smart watch, or in an electronic device) implanted within or on the person's body. This data can also be stored in a database accessible via a network.

  • Patent number: 11558731
Abstract: Mobile devices, autonomous sensors and actuators, and myriad other IoT wireless devices demand low-complexity protocols in addition to 5G and 6G protocols. Disclosed are methods for devices to form spontaneous local sidelink networks without involvement of a base station. In a first aspect, a user device can broadcast a hailing message soliciting replies from all devices in range, each reply including the wireless address of the replying user device. In another aspect, each of the user devices in a sidelink network can periodically transmit a semaphore message indicating its wireless addresses, and a new arrival can join the sidelink network by appending its semaphore message to the others. After forming the sidelink network, the user devices can communicate among themselves unicast (addressed to a specific member of the sidelink network). Also disclosed are procedures for recovery from message collisions and transmission of emergency messages. Many other aspects are disclosed.
