  • Patent number: 4670375
Abstract: Disclosed is a light-sensitive silver halide color photographic material comprising a support and a plurality of silver halide emulsion layers on the support, the emulsion layers being substantially identical in color sensitivity but different in sensitivity and containing at least one of a dye image-forming coupler, characterized in that silver halide grains contained in at least one layer of the plurality of silver halide emulsion layers consist substantially of monodispersed silver halide grains, a color concentration of the emulsion layer comprising the monodispersed silver halide grains being within the range of 60 to 98% of the total color concentration of the plurality of silver halide emulsion layers. The employment of the monodispersed silver halide grains of this invention and the increase in a concentration of the grains in the emulsion layers permit the improvement of graininess, the enlargment of exposure range and better of stability to processing and stability with time.

  • Patent number: 4645696
Abstract: In connection with the manufacture of cellulosic insulation of the type utilizing shredded newspaper which is treated with a fire retardant chemical composition and used for the thermal insulation of building structures, an anti-static agent is mixed and adhered to the fire retardant agent prior to depositing the fire retardant agent on the shredded cellulosic material. The anti-static agent may also be introduced into the finished product with desirable but not as significant improvements in the insulation and its manufacture.

  • Patent number: 4604345
Abstract: An exposure method for exposing a sensitive layer on a semiconductor wafer to an integrated-circuit pattern of a mask. The exposure is effected by a combination of a primary exposure step for exposing the sensitive layer to the pattern with a beam of high resolution and a secondary exposure step for exposing the sensitive layer with a beam of lower resolution and by an amount which does not have a substantial effect on the sensitization of the sensitive layer. By the combined exposures, the exposure time can be reduced as compared with that required in the exposure only through a high-resolution exposure.

  • Patent number: 4595647
Abstract: An improved laser markable material useful for encapsulation of electronic devices is obtained by adding TiO.sub.2 or TiO.sub.2 +CrO.sub.3 to common plastic encapsulants formed from a mixture of a resin+filler+carbon black+mold release agent. When irradiated by a laser, the originally grey material turns bright gold, providing a high contrast durable mark. The material has excellent marking contrast as well as better stability with time and temperature as compared to prior art laser markable encapsulants. Desirable concentrations, in weight percent of the compound, are 1-5% TiO.sub.2 and 0-3% CrO.sub.3, with 1-3% TiO.sub.2 and 0.5-2% CrO.sub.3 being preferred. Carbon black is optional but a concentration in the range 0.1-3% by weight is desirable with 0.5-1% preferred. Improved encapsulation and marking methods and improved devices using this material are described.

  • Patent number: 4586818
Abstract: A measuring station for a photometer has an aperture which connects a measuring chamber and the environment and through which a sample vessel can be introduced into the measuring chamber and/or removed from the measuring chamber. The sample vessel is raised and lowered by a plunger which is adapted to seal against the aperture by means of a sealing element. The sealing element has a first position in which its periphery circumscribes a smaller area than the internal clear cross-section of the aperture, to permit the sample vessel to be lifted into the chamber. The sealing element can then be expanded radially into sealing engagement with the aperture to seal the plunger to the walls of the aperture to prevent ingress of light.
