Abstract: The embodiments herein provide a patient transfer system for transferring a patient form one surface to another with a single attendant/caretaker. The system comprises a main base with wheels, a column actuator for height adjustment and a patient resting surface. The patient resting surface comprises two surfaces made of a mattress and a sheet. During transfer of patient from one surface to another, the system is attached/locked to a firm surface like floor, wall or ceiling using mechanical attachment devices for providing stability. The sheet when pulled lengthwise is transformed into an almost hard surface. A frame with sheet carrying patient is moved horizontally or vertically for transferring the patient. The sheet is made out of radiolucent material to avoid any effects due to radiations during X-ray, CT scans, MRI etc. The system is also convertible into a wheelchair using actuators when needed.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a military stretcher system. The system includes a military hand-carried stretcher. An adaptor is provided for adapting the stretcher to fasten to a military transportation stretcher holder, typically used on vessels and in vehicles and in aircraft. Advantageously, the adaptor may adapt the stretcher to fasten to the holder (e.g. a racking system) conventionally used to hold a known NATO type stretcher.

Abstract: A configurable foam mattress comfort system includes a firm foam mattress foundation including an upper surface having a triangular grooves disposed across a width thereof, and foam elongate cells configured to fit partially within corresponding triangular grooves from among the triangular grooves disposed across the width thereof. A length of each of the foam elongate cells is substantially equal to the width of the firm foam mattress foundation. The foam elongate cells are configured to be custom-stacked on each other and on the firm foam mattress foundation in accordance with a user's desired comfort configuration.
Abstract: Patient lift systems and lift accessories for the same are disclosed. In one example, a system may include a rail having a carriage support channel formed in the rail, the channel having a width, the rail has a working load rating; a carriage slidably disposed in the rail for relative movement to the rail, the carriage comprising a shaft having a length; and a lift unit coupled to the carriage and operable to raise and lower a lifting strap, wherein the lift unit has a working load rating; wherein the length of the shaft of the carriage is less than the width of the channel when the working load rating of the lift unit is equal to or less than the working load rating of the rail. In this manner, lift units that are incompatible with the working load rating of the rail cannot be connected with the rail.
Abstract: A cooling bed system is configured to provide a cooling airflow around a patient suffering from heat exhaustion, heat stroke and or burns. A cooling bed system produces an airflow over a patient and preferably an airflow from both above and below the patient to more effectively and quickly cool the patient. A cooling bed system may also include a liquid dispenser that creates mist that is carried by the airflow to further cool the patient. A patient may be supported by a platform having a plurality of openings to allow airflow and mist to pass therethrough. A controller controls the airflow rate and/or temperature of the air, and may also control the liquid dispensing rate and/or temperature of the liquid as a function of an input from a temperature sensor to effectively and safely cool the patient.
Abstract: The invention discloses a new portable baby sleeping bag, including a sleeping cradle. The front part of the sleeping cradle is provided with a first accommodation cavity. The rear part of the sleeping bag is provided with a second accommodation cavity. The first accommodation cavity is provided with a first frame. The second accommodation cavity is provided with a second frame. The inner bottom surface of the second frame is provided with a receiving groove. An adjustment mechanism for adjusting the height of the backrest is provided between the bottom surface of the backrest and the bottom surface of the receiving groove. The width and the height of the first frame are respectively smaller than the width and height of the second frame. The bottom of the middle front part of the sleeping cradle is provided with a sealing edge.
Abstract: A bedside or chairside holster support for safely supporting a handgun in its holster on the side of a bed, or on the side of a chair or sofa, to provide rapid access to the handgun. The holster support includes a holster support bracket, and a T-shaped member that is held trapped between a mattress and a box spring, or under the seat cushion of a chair or sofa. The holster support maintains a handgun in a holster pointed downward at an angle of 15 degrees from straight downward for rapid access to the firearm, while keeping the muzzle of the handgun pointed in a safe direction. The holster support can be easily stored anywhere, and can be easily packed in a suitcase for travel.
Abstract: A support apparatus that is configured to support a person's head as he or she lies in a generally prone position with the apparatus in a horizontal support position and to support his or her back as he or she sits in an inclined position with the apparatus in an inclined support position. The apparatus has a transverse support member interconnecting a pair of vertical support members to provide an upper pillow-receiving surface and to define a gap under the transverse support member for receiving the user's arms when he or she is laying down. The apparatus also has base members on the vertical support members to distribute the weight, a rear support member to prevent a pillow from sliding off of the upper pillow-receiving surface and one or more rearwardly disposed stand-off members to space the apparatus from a wall or headboard.

Abstract: A mattress with adjustable hardness comprises at least one resilience supplying module, at least one air bag module and a lining provided for the resilience supplying module and the air bag module to be placed therein. The lining is provided with a plurality of lattice-like units, each lattice-like unit defining a mounting space therein. The resilience supplying module is provided with a plurality of elastic bodies respectively provided in one of the mounting spaces. The air bag module is provided with a plurality of air bag units respectively provided in one of the mounting spaces. In this case, the air bag units may be inflated consistently, and the expanded volume of each of the air bag units after inflation may be limited to be uniform by the corresponding lattice-like unit. Thus, the problem of incapability of being kept evenness after inflation in the conventional practice is solved.
