Abstract: To provide an image forming apparatus including: a discharge tray which can moves between a first position capable of loading a discharged sheet and a second position that is separated from the first position; and a sheet loading amount detection sensor which has a sheet detection flag abutting against the upper surface of the sheet loaded on the discharge tray and capable of moving in accordance with a loading amount of the sheet loaded on the discharge tray, and detects the sheet loading amount by detecting a position of the sheet detection flag, wherein when the discharge tray means is located at the second position, the sheet detection flag is removed from a position capable of detecting the sheet loading amount.

Abstract: An image processing apparatus has a document table on which a document can be placed. A document position detector detects the position of the document on the document table. A scanning mode selector selects a scanning mode according to the position detected by the document position detector. A scanning unit scans the document in the selected mode. Different image processing modes may also be selected according to the detected position. The scanning and image processing modes are selected automatically, relieving the user of the need to make mode selections from a control panel.

Abstract: A thermal printer includes a main frame having side plates, a platen roller rotatably supported in the main frame, a print head unit supported in the main unit so as to be pivotable between an image-forming state and a non-image forming state, a sheet case adapted to accommodate a sheet, and a contact portion that is attached to the print head unit so as to pivot together with the print head unit. The print head unit is pressed against the platen roller to convey a sheet therebetween when the print head unit is in the image-forming state. The sheet case is mounted in the main frame through an insertion part formed in one of the side plates. The contact portion contacts the sheet case from a second side plate side when the print head unit is in the image-forming state. It is possible to reduce the occurrence of printing defects.

Abstract: A soft keyboard includes at least three rows of keys wherein a middle row is located near the center of the keyboard. The middle row includes vowel keys, and an upper row and a lower row include consonant keys. The consonant keys and the vowels keys are arranged in alphabetical order. At least one of the three rows of keys further includes at least one of the space key, the enter key, and the delete key. Another soft keyboard includes a first ring of keys around a central key, and a second ring of keys around the first ring of keys. The central key may be the enter key. The first ring of keys includes vowel keys arranged in alphabetical order. The first ring of keys may include the space key and the delete key. The second ring of keys includes consonant keys arranged in alphabetical order.

Abstract: A collapsible keyboard comprises a connection part, a top cover pivoted to the connection part, a first key assembly connected to the connection part and movable between a first position and a second position, and a second key assembly pivoted to the first key assembly. The first key assembly is located at the first position when the collapsible keyboard is in an operating mode, and the second key assembly is located between the first key assembly and the top cover and the first key assembly is located at the second position when the collapsible keyboard is in a collapsed mode.
