  • Patent number: 4822680
Abstract: A polyurethane filmed glass material for use as monolithic insulated glass or laminated glass in spandrel application is provided. Polyurethane sheet which has been ultraviolet light stabilized is pigmented, coated or otherwise colored to produce a coloring which is predictable and reproducible. A coupling agent is employed and the polyurethane adheres directly to a glass sheet without glues or adhesives. The manufacture of the glass material includes laying a sheet of colored polyurethane sheet material on a sheet of glass which has been prepared with a coupling agent. Outside surfaces of the polyurethane are coated with a release material. The glass sheet and the prepared polyurethane sheet are then loaded into a vacuum bag which in turn is then loaded into an autoclave. The bag is subjected to a vacuum while the autoclave vessel is pressurized.

  • Patent number: 4822616
Abstract: A vaginal ring comprises a supporting ring 1 free of active agent. A layer 2, which contains an active agent such as a steroid, is applied on its outer rim, optionally in a continuous groove provided in the supporting ring. This layer, in turn, is coated with a layer 3 devoid of active ingredient. All components preferably comprise an LTV silicone elastomer. The ratio of the thickness of the layer 2, containing an active agent, to the layer 3, free of active agent, is about 5-50:1. As a result, a long-term and uniform release rate is achieved for the active agent.

  • Patent number: 4816321
Abstract: An electrosensitive substrate from which a metallized surface layer is selectively removed using electrosensitive printing to expose a patterned underlayer. The patterned underlayer may be randomly exposed, or exposed in prescribed portions. Tags, labels or the like of this description may be electrically imprinted with unique identification codes, such as serially printed alphanumeric characters. Such tags and labels resist duplication by conventional printing techniques. The patterned underlayer may be imprinted using inks of a variety of surface textures, resulting in an embossed effect in the metallized surface. Alternatively, a lacquer layer may be provided between the patterned layer and the metallized surface to achieve a uniform appearance of the metallized surface.
