  • Patent number: 7078082
Abstract: A tail end of a web is attached to a winding core via a two-component mechanism having a core component attached to the core and a web component attached to the web, the two components being attached to each other in releasable fashion. The mechanism assists startup of winding. Upon completion of unwinding, the web component detaches from the core component to expose a region of adhesive on a part of the web component that extends from the tail end of the web. The tail end thus can be spliced to a leading end of another web by attaching the leading end to the exposed adhesive on the web component.

  • Patent number: 7070844
Abstract: A prefabricated asphalt-based waterproof roofing membrane for use in a multi-ply asphalt-based commercial roofing system, e.g. a cap sheet that forms the exposed layer of a multi-ply built-up roofing system, is manufactured at a factory to have a highly reflective thermoplastic elastomeric sheet layer with a top surface that has a reflectance that meets current EPA Energy Star requirements. Preferably, a polymer primer layer is interposed between the highly reflective thermoplastic elastomeric sheet layer and an asphalt saturated and coated reinforcing substrate to keep oils and other colored components in the asphalt from exuding into the highly reflective thermoplastic elastomeric sheet layer.

Abstract: A prefabricated asphalt-based waterproof roofing membrane for use in a multi-ply asphalt-based commercial roofing system, e.g. a cap sheet that forms the exposed layer of a multi-ply built-up roofing system, is manufactured at a factory to have a highly reflective non-asphalt based elastomeric top coating layer with an upper surface that meets current EPA Energy Star requirements. Preferably, a polymer primer layer is interposed between the highly reflective coating layer and an asphalt saturated and coated reinforcing substrate to keep oils and other colored components in the asphalt from exuding into the highly reflective coating layer.

  • Patent number: 7060337
Abstract: An adhesive roller for detritus removal having a tubular cylindrical adhesive roll formed by a plurality of overlapping spiral wound layers. Each layer has a backing substrate and an adhesive coating on an outwardly facing side of the sheet. A cover is removably disposed around and has an inner side in contact with the outermost layer of the adhesive roll. The cover has an adhesive release coating on its inner side to reduce adhesion between the cover and the outermost layer of the adhesive roll and two longitudinally extending edges positioned closely adjacent each other when the cover is disposed around the roll. The cover is formed by overlapping spiral wound strips. Additionally, a longitudinally extending adhesive retainer strip overlies the edges of the cover to detachably secure the covers together. A pull-tab is adhesively attached to one side of the retainer strip which enables the cover to be repeatedly removed from and reattached to the adhesive roll.

  • Patent number: 7052755
Abstract: A bonding agent having an adhesive and a curing agent is formed on a bonding surface of a dial member. A transfer sheet is attached to a convex side of the dial members, and a release sheet is attached to its bonding agent side to form a dial label. When this dial label is attached to a dial base, the release sheet is peeled off and the dial label is attached to the dial base. The transfer sheet is peeled off together with the excess of the bonding agent, and then the bonding agent is cured by a curing agent. Since the bonding agent in the peripheral portions of the dial members is cured while bonding force is maintained, there is no adherence of fine particles of foreign matter, and a satisfactory appearance can be obtained.

  • Patent number: 6989183
Abstract: A form that incorporates either a label or card such that the form can be reliably printed on by the end user and manufactured less expensively. The integrated label form includes a top printable substrate and a liner substrate mated together by an adhesive. The top printable substrate serves at least partially as removable portions capable of being reapplied. Weakened lines of substrate may be provided to define removable portions on the top printable substrate. The form also may include a similar printable substrate mated to the other side of the liner by adhesive. Weakened lines of substrate also may formed in the second substrate to define removable portions. The integrated card form includes a printable substrate and a first and second laminate mated to the substrate and together by an adhesive. Weakened lines of substrate and first laminate define an integrated removable portion capable of being held in the form by the second laminate and easily removed manually when desired.

  • Patent number: 6986928
Abstract: Improved tablecloth and device for fixing the skin of the tablecloth, the tablecloth comprising an independent skirt which can be detachably held to the board of the table by means which enable a variable distribution of the fixing points, and a cover which is placed on the surface of the table board and hanging sideways and hiding the edge of the board as well as the fixing points of the skirt. The device for fixing the skirt comprises a frame which is fixed to the lower part of the table board, and at a predetermined distance from the edge of the board, remaining slightly separated therefrom by discontinuous portions which can be integral with the frame or not. A variable number of C-shaped parts are placed on the frame which embrace it and are held by means of a narrowing section configured by its own branches, thereby enabling the lateral displacement along the frame.
