  • Patent number: 6874308
Abstract: A tilting deck lawn mower including a tractor frame, with drive wheel hydrostatic steering supporting a carrier frame and cutting deck pivotally mounted to the tractor frame on a horizontal axis parallel to the path of movement of the mower. Supported by the carrier frame is a single cutting deck with multiple blades; a pair of castered wheels mounted on the carrier frame, one on each side for ground support; a horizontal leg supporting one of the wheels is pivotally journaled to the carrier frame; a parallelogram linkage connecting the rotation of the supporting leg to the tractor, whereby the supporting leg does not rotate relative to the ground when the carrier frame rotates and an adjustable supporting arms on the carrier frame supporting the cutting deck which arms lift the cutting deck up towards the carrier frame as the carrier frame and cutting deck begin the rotate.

  • Patent number: 6874311
Abstract: A large round baler is provided with a crop take-up arrangement as well as a knife shaft ahead of the inlet of a baling chamber which carries knives that cooperate with blades of a first rotor to cut crop material into pieces before the first rotor delivers the crop directly into the baling chamber. A second rotor is provided between the take-up rotor and the first rotor shaft for narrowing the crop flow from that of the crop take-up arrangement to that of the first rotor. All of the rotors perform an overshot conveying that requires a relatively low drive energy and guarantees a continuous flow of the crop into the chamber.

  • Patent number: 6865870
Abstract: A system for propelling a combine over the ground and driving other components of the combine includes an engine driving a transmission via a hydrostatic drive system. A microprocessor stores a work table and a road table for controlling engine speed. A gear selector operates a switch to select one of the tables and a throttle control operates switches to select a speed value from the selected table. When working a field, the work table is selected so that the engine runs at speeds in a range suitable for driving the other components. For transport of the combine the road table is selected so that the engine may run at a speed higher than speeds suitable for driving the other components. For a given setting of the throttle control, the engine is controlled to run at either a first or second speed depending on the setting of the gear select lever.

  • Patent number: 6834484
Abstract: A harvester with a control system responsive to at least one crop processing variable for automatically controlling forward speed of the harvester includes a crop presence responsive switch connected to an automatic harvester control system. The switch, preferably a proximity switch responsive to movement of the feeder house drum from an empty feeder house limit position, provides a signal in response to crop entering the feeder house for initiating the automatic speed control of the harvester after the header receives the crop and prior to the crop entering the processing structure. The automatic control initiation structure is particularly useful with an automatic combine throughput control and eliminates unstable operation resulting from delayed control initiation. The switch is part of an adjustable down stop mechanism for the feeder house drum.

  • Patent number: 6817305
Abstract: A device serves for transplanting trees or shrubs. The device comprises a carrier that is capable of encircling the tree or the shrub. Circularly arced slideways are supported on the carrier, and spades are adjustably supported along the slideways. The spades can be adjusted from a digging position, in which they encircle the tree or shrub, to a transport position, in which they substantially complement each other to form a bowl. So that the spades can be easily adjusted, the slideways are accommodated in guide boxes. The guide boxes are supported on the carrier so that they can be adjusted independently of each other.
