Abstract: A leaf vacuum and mulching implement for attachment by three-point-hitch to a farm tractor and driven by mechanical connection to the tractor's power tack-off unit (PTO). The implement utilizes a broad vacuum deck having polymeric skirts in near proximity with the ground and a floating three-point-hitch system for lifting the vacuum deck and allowing it to follow the ground contour. High velocity fans blow debris collected by the vacuum deck to a unique, rotating, multifaceted, conical shredding rotor prior to directional dispersion.
Abstract: An apparatus for varying the rate of seed population by planters or drills, comprising first and second squeeze jack variable speed pulleys, and a belt running around the pulleys; a cog mounted on the first pulley and a cog mounted on the second pulley, and a drive chain running around the cog mounted on the first pulley and a row unit chain running around the cog mounted on the second pulley; and apparatus to vary selectively the speed of the row unit chain at any given speed of the drive chain and at any slope of the apparatus above or below level ground.
Abstract: A harvester includes a brush assembly having a plurality of flexible, radial bristles extending from a central axis of the brush assembly. The brush assembly is adapted and constructed for rotation in a first direction. A comb assembly having a plurality of axially extending combs mounted in a position spaced radially from and parallel to a central axis of the comb assembly is also provided. The comb assembly is adapted and constructed for rotation in a direction opposite to the direction of rotation of the brush assembly. A mounting assembly secures the brush assembly and the comb assembly such that the bristles of the brush assembly come into contact with the combs of the comb assembly when the brush assembly and the comb assembly are rotating. A method of harvesting of grass seeds while minimizing damage to the standing grass from which the seed is harvested is also disclosed.
Abstract: A ballast cleaning machine is a machine frame supported on the track by undercarriages, one of the undercarriages at an end of the machine frame being displaceable in the longitudinal direction. Two vertically and laterally adjustable endless ballast excavating chains are sequentially arranged in the longitudinal direction for excavating ballast from a ballast bed and mounted on the machine frame between the undercarriages, and drives vertically and laterally adjust, and revolve, each endless ballast excavating chain. At least two track lifting devices are mounted on the machine frame, and a screening installation for cleaning ballast is mounted on a car linked to the machine frame. A first conveyor arrangement conveys the ballast excavated by the two endless ballast excavating chains to the screening installation, and a second conveyor arrangement distributed the cleaned ballast from the screening installation to the ballast bed.

Abstract: A flexible member is provided for use with a hand tool having a working implement and a handle. The flexible member includes an elongated member having a first end configured for attachment to the working implement and a second end configured for attachment to the handle. The elongated member defines a plurality of notches. The elongated member is made of a resiliently deformable material. The notches alternately face opposite directions along the length of the elongated member. The first end of the elongated member is configured for threaded or mechanical attachment to the working implement. Abstract: The simultaneous processing of multiple rows of plants, especially trellised rows. Apparatus is provided to process two adjacent rows, using a conventional tractor with narrow gauge front wheels, with rear wheels on opposite sides of the two rows with a larger gauge. The spacing apart of the rear wheels is adjustable. The two processing apparati can be used simultaneously or selectively.
Abstract: A drilling rig system including a man-machine workstation interface located in proximity to the drilling rig for providing to a single operator at substantially one location simultaneous operational access to drilling rig processes. The workstation includes an adjustable base and an operator alcove formed on the base in which an operator is positioned allowing for a substantially unobstructed view of the drilling rig. Adjustable forearm support panels are formed on opposing sides of the operator alcove for supporting the forearms of the operator while positioned in the alcove. At least one display unit is adjustably connected to the base and has a touch access screen adapted to allow the operator to monitor and control drilling rig processes. A plurality of discrete hand controls are used for controlling predetermined drilling rig processes wherein at least one of the discrete hand controls is located on the forearm support panels.

Abstract: A hydraulic drive apparatus for powering mechanical components of a pull-type implement, such as a crop harvesting unit, having an elongated extending hitching arm for pivotal attachment to a powered vehicle provided with a power take-off shaft. The drive apparatus includes a hydraulic pump for attachment to the hitching arm, a mechanical drive shaft for operation of the hydraulic pump upon attachment of the drive shaft to the power take-off shaft of the powered vehicle, and connections for hydraulic fluid lines for delivery and return of hydraulic fluid to and from a hydraulic motor for operation of the mechanical components of the pull-type crop harvester. The apparatus may include an articulation assembly to isolate the drive for the pump from movements between the hitching arm and the vehicle.

Abstract: A mowing machine having a four-wheel drive mechanism, together with a mowing unit below the machine body. The mowing machine has an engine in front or at the rear of the traveling machine body, a transmission case close to the engine, and the four-wheel drive mechanism for allowing driving front and rear wheels by transmitting drive force from the transmission case to rear and front axle cases, wherein a remote transmission part for transmitting the drive force to the axle case located more remote from the transmission case in the four-wheel drive mechanism is formed in an upwardly bent or curved shape, and a space for placing the mowing unit is provided below the remote transmission part. The mowing unit is provided below the traveling machine body movably upwards or downwards, and an expansion shaft expansible in an axial core direction is used to transmit the drive force from the engine to the mowing unit.
Abstract: An article retrieving device for gathering and storing nuts that allows the user to maintain an erect posture during use, comprises a retaining element and a housing. The retaining element is adapted to retrieve nuts from the ground and includes a plurality of resilient pieces arranged in rows on a sleeve. The retrieved nuts are stored in the housing and dispensed from the housing via a dispensing opening.
Abstract: Yield monitor apparatus and methods for a forage processing machinery are provided. The yield monitor measures a forage yield by variously measuring a forage impingement force, a forage volume flow, a forage volume increment accumulation, or a forage processing machinery drive load. The yield measures an impeller speed. The yield monitor may generate a yield amount, with the yield amount capable of being stored and displayed to a forage processing machinery operator. Alternatively, the yield monitor may generate a groundspeed control signal that is used by the forage processing machinery to control a forage processing machinery groundspeed or other forage processing machinery parameters.

Abstract: A control system for an agricultural harvester having a frame and a header. The header attaches to a feeder which connects the header to the harvester, and header to feeder attaching point has a position which is adjustable relative to the frame. In at least one mode, when an operator raises the feeder above a predetermined height, the control system automatically levels the header to the frame of the harvester, even though the header was being operated manually in a lowered position. The control system includes a feeder housing limit switch that indicates when the operator raises the feeder above a predetermined height. When operating in the automatic centering mode, the header tilt control module compares the centering signal and the balance signal to automatically level the header relative to the frame of the harvester.
Abstract: A system for harvester header height and tilt control includes a sensor, such as a crop edge detector, mounted on the harvester for predicting ground contour of an area a substantial distance in front of the header for generally the entire width of the header. An on-board processor calculates the desired header height and tilt for that area in advance of the harvester reaching the area. The early ground contour measurements enable faster and smoother header height adjustments requiring reduced hydraulic power. The predicted contour also facilitates early compensation for the effects of abrupt header attitude changes resulting from harvester ground wheels or tracks riding on that contour. The system can be used to maintain header height a preselected distance below the crop heads to reduce harvester throughput.
Abstract: An adjustable link assembly is provided that includes a first and a second rod each threadably engaging a bore of a body portion. A locking mechanism is slidably disposed about generally the entire length of the body portion. Locking mechanism includes an engagement portion and a lever. The lever has an eye that engages a post on the first rod to deter relative motion between the body portion and the first and second rods.
Abstract: A coiled tubing injector head comprised of a plurality of endless chains, each of which are at least three links wide, that are positioned around a plurality of sprockets and/or idler rollers within the injector head. A plurality of gripper assemblies are positioned around the middle links of the endless chains. A bearing skate is positioned within the injector head, the bearing skate be comprised of a plurality of bearings in a staggered configuration, the bearings being adapted for rolling engagement with a portion of the gripper assemblies. An injector head is comprised of a plurality of halves, each of the halves being coupled to a positioning bar, the positioning bar having a plurality of openings formed therein, the openings adapted for use in varying the distance between the first and second halves.

Abstract: An olive harvester has a nonrotatable outer cap, a rotatable inner cap which is driven by compressed air supplied to the outer cap and which generates a swirl through the olive tree below the inner cap which dislodges the olives so that they can be collected in a skirt which is fixed to the outer cap and surrounds the tree. A flexible collection pipe or sleeve at the bottom of the skirt permits the discharge of the olives to the exterior.
Abstract: A replaceable wear part for mounting on a leading edge of a working tool, the leading edge and the wear part having co-operative guide formations extending generally perpendicular to the leading edge and which provide a socket and projection type of slidable inter-fit whereby the wear part can be driven by a force extending generally perpendicular to the leading edge in order to take-up a working position in which it is secured against displacement from the working position by frictional interengagement between the guide formations on the wear part and the leading edge, and without need for threaded or other separate removable fasteners.
Abstract: An elevated drawbar for a grain cart that can be attached to the rear end of an agricultural combine above the crop residue discharge opening. The elevated position of the grain cart drawbar allows the crop residue to be discharged under the drawbar. The crop residue can therefore travel unobstructed from the combine's discharge opening to the ground.
Abstract: A disc cutterbar with at least one cutterhead having a two-piece mounting hub, one piece rotatably driven and the other supporting a knife for severing standing crop material, with an epoxy layer bonding the two pieces together and forming a shear device therebetween. A brake is associated with the knife-supporting piece whereby upon failure of the shear device, the knife-supporting piece is stopped from rotating within one revolution. The brake includes upper and lower locking blocks having generally mating teeth. Upon failure of the shear device, the teeth of the upper and lower locking blocks engage, thereby stopping the rotation of the mounting hub.

Abstract: A coupling device for mounting an agricultural implement on a tractor equipped with a belt drive, which includes two coupling halves which are connected to each other by several coupling rods, designed in such a way that no components working on the linear drive principle are needed. The lower right and left coupling rods include in each case a lower front and a lower rear rod section which are connected to each other, and which are freely movable relative to each other. One end of the lower rear rod section carries an expanded portion, which is located inside a housing of the end region of the lower front rod section. A plurality of elastically deformable equalizing bodies are inserted between the inner surfaces of the housing of the end region and the outer surfaces of the expanded portion, limiting the movement of the lower rear rod section in relation to the lower front rod section.
